2 Gasunie renews procurement process Whether we are aiming to optimise gas transport or to manage our supply base, we at Gasunie are continuously looking for opportunities to improve our business processes. That s why we introduced the procurement management tool Ariba into our organisation in early Introducing this tool will reduce the amount of manual transactions, will give Gasunie employees more opportunities for placing orders and will standardise processes, making them more transparent. This will make the order process run more efficiently, saving us time and money. The system also offers benefits for our suppliers, ensuring that they get better insight into the status of purchase orders and related payments. Benefits for us Using Ariba means we can digitalise the various parts of the procurement process, such as: registering suppliers (in Supplier Information Management: SIM), organising tenders (RFI and RFP), drawing up and managing contracts, entering data for and approving requisitions, placing purchase orders, monitoring supplier performance and receiving invoices. We are introducing the programme in different phases adding a measure of additional functionality each time. At the end of 2012, the receiving invoices element will be added. Processing purchase orders for pressure equipment will follow in 2013.

3 Benefits for you as a supplier Ariba also has benefits for our suppliers: more insight into and overview of your purchase orders and order processing, quicker invoice-to-pay process (reverse billing), online and up-to-date information on status of your invoices, you can maintain your data yourself, clearly defined commercial information (similar to CRM), customer and supplier work in the same document, therefore less potential for errors, Ariba offers suppliers new commercial opportunities with other Ariba buyers and opportunities for new customers, electronic communication cuts down manual processes and paper use. More than 730,000 companies worldwide are already using the Ariba Commerce Cloud, and that number is constantly increasing. We have also been part of this since Participating in a tender (tender process) Once you have been informed of a business opportunity at Gasunie, for example via the procurement department or via a European publication, you can apply for participation in this tender process. In order to participate, you must register on the Gasunie section of Ariba, called Gasunie Ariba Spend Management, part of Supplier Information Management (SIM). Participating in a business transaction One part of the Ariba Cloud is the Ariba Network. This network enables organisations to form relationships with buying organisations such as Gasunie and conduct transactions over the internet. After accepting an invitation, Gasunie can view your catalogues and place orders. You receive the orders, return invoices and receive status information on payments in Ariba. Ariba is efficient for both parties: customer and supplier can work together on a mutually coordinated offer, which can be converted

4 into a definite purchase order with one click following internal approval. Before you can carry out business transactions with us, you must first complete a one-off registration on the specific Gasunie section of Ariba, in the SIM programme. N.B. if you have already registered once, for example because you participated in a tender, then you will not need to register again! You can register at The next step is to subscribe to the Ariba Network, see the figure below, for a supplier membership program, so that you can do business digitally with us and with all the companies that use this network. You will only incur costs for this if you actively use the Ariba network, not for subscribing. You can read more information on this at and on our website SIM Supplier Information on behalf of Gasunie Ariba Network Ariba Network costs There are four levels in the Supplier Membership Program: Basic, Business, Integrated and Enterprise Package. Everyone starts with the Basic level subscription. After using the Ariba Network for 1 quarter, you will be charged a fee by Ariba, depending on the amount spend and number of documents sent over the internet. Most of the suppliers do not pay anything. You will pay only if: more than 5 documents (orders and invoices) per year are sent over the Ariba network AND you exceed the threshold spend value of 35,000 euros. If you stay within these limits, you will not pay any costs. Your Gasunie contact person within the procurement department can give you more details about costs.

5 You can set off against these costs the benefits to you as a supplier mentioned above, including: always overview of the status of payments, quicker invoice settlement and opportunities for approaching new customers via Ariba.
