5 1 Getting Started 1.1 About this Document Purpose This Master Guide is the central starting point for the technical implementation of Field data capture for upstream allocations with SAP MII Release 2.0 (FDC). This guide must be used together with the Master Guide for the Upstream Operations Management (UOM) for Oil and Gas as there is close interdependency on working of the two. You can find cross-scenario implementation information as well as scenario-specific information in this guide. Note The central starting point for the technical upgrade of your SAP application/solution is the Master Guide, which you can find on SAP Service Marketplace at Use the Master Guide to get an overview of FDC, its software units, and its scenarios from a technical perspective. The Master Guide is a planning tool that helps you to design your system landscape. It refers you to the required detailed documentation, mainly: Installation guides for single software units SAP Notes Configuration documentation SAP Library documentation The Master Guide consists of the following main sections: FDC Overview o A short introduction of FDC o A description of the software units for FDC o The software component matrix that provides the information on which components are used in which business scenarios and if the corresponding component is mandatory or optional o Minimal system landscape information o The overall implementation sequence for FDC Information about Business Process of FDC o List of Documents o This section contains references to documentation related to FDC and its business scenarios. The Main SAP Documentation Types o This section contains information on the most important documentation types for your SAP solution. Note You can find the most current information about the technical implementation of FDC and the latest installation and configuration guides on SAP Service Marketplace at Getting Started 2016 SAP AG or an SAP affiliate company. 6 We strongly recommend that you use the documents available here. The guides are regularly updated. Constraints The business scenarios that are presented here serve as examples of how you can use SAP software in your company. The business scenarios are only intended as models and do not necessarily run the way they are described here in your customer-specific system landscape. Ensure to check your requirements and systems to determine whether these scenarios can be used productively at your site. Furthermore, we recommend that you test these scenarios thoroughly in your test systems to ensure they are complete and free of errors before going live. This Master Guide primarily discusses the overall technical implementation of FDC, rather than its subordinate components. This means that additional software dependencies might exist without being mentioned explicitly in this document. You can find more information on component-specific software dependencies in the corresponding installation guides. 1.2 Related Information Planning Information For more information about planning topics not covered in this guide, see the following content on SAP Service Marketplace: Content Latest versions of installation and upgrade guides SAP Business Maps - information about applications and business scenarios Sizing, calculation of hardware requirements - such as CPU, disk and memory resource - with the Quick Sizer tool Released platforms and technologyrelated topics such as maintenance strategies and language support Network security High Availability Performance Information about Support Package Stacks, latest software versions and patch Location on SAP Service Marketplace To access the Platform Availability Matrix directly, enter SAP AG or an SAP affiliate company. 9 2 Overview of Field Data Capture for Upstream Allocations with SAP MII FDC works along with SAP ECC UOM and Plant Connectivity (PCo) 2.1 Support Pack 04 Patch 2 or higher. The PCo 2.1 Support Pack 04 Patch 2 or higher works as a connector to the field system to retrieve field parameters. The field data is validated and consolidated and sent to ERP in the required format. The field data can be classified into following: Well Downtime: The downtime and uptime events from the well or well completions is captured and sent to ERP. Measurements: At regular intervals the application retrieves information from the field systems that are required for running Allocation process in UOM. Well Test: This consists of the results of several tests performed on the wells. These tests determine the production capacity of the well that is used in Allocation process in UOM. 2.1 Software Units of FDC The following software units are required: SAP ERP EhP5 (UOM for IS Oil and Gas for Upstream) SAP NetWeaver 7.3 SAP MII 12.2 Support Pack 02 Patch 5 or higher PCo 2.1 Support Pack 04 Patch 2 or higher Third party data historian (Data historians are not supported by SAP. Any data historian that can communicate with PCo 2.1 Support Pack 04 Patch 2 or higher can be used.) Plant Historian (third party software not supported by SAP) 2.2 Software Component Matrix This section provides an overview of which business scenario of <name of application/solution> uses which software unit. For the latest component version and patch level requirements, see the SAP Service Marketplace at service.sap.com/sp-stacks. See the Master Guide for SAP NetWeaver CE 7.1 on the SAP Service Marketplace at service.sap.com/instguides. Caution We strongly recommend that you use a minimal system landscape for test and demo purposes only. For performance, scalability, high availability, and security reasons, do not use a minimal system landscape as your production landscape. Installation Options with SAP NetWeaver 7.3 (for Java Hubs) For SAP Business Suite applications as of SAP Business Suite 7 that are based on an Application Server Java and on hub systems, you can install these applications on SAP NetWeaver 7.3. You can also change from your current release to SAP NetWeaver 7.3. Changing means upgrading or updating. The following approaches for system landscapes for SAP NetWeaver 7.3 are possible: Upgrading to SAP NetWeaver 7.3 works for hub systems. Embedded deployment continues to work only for SAP NetWeaver 7.0x releases and their enhancement packages (this means, for example, for SAP NetWeaver 7.00, SAP NetWeaver 7.01, and SAP NetWeaver 7.02). For more information about the technical background, see SAP Note There you can find a list of all the Java hubs that you can install on SAP NetWeaver SAP AG or an SAP affiliate company. 11 2.4 Overall Implementation Sequence Purpose The following table describes the overall installation sequence for FDC. This table contains all available software units. However, to implement a specific scenario, you only need a subset of available software units. Some are only required for special processes. For information about which software is required to implement a specific scenario, see respective scenario-specific section. For documentation listed in the following table, see References. Process Implementation Sequence Step Action [Required Documentation] Remarks/Subsequent Steps 1 Installation of PCo 2.1 For more information, see service.sap.com/instguides > SAP Business Suite Applications > SAP Manufacturing > Plant Connectivity There may be multiple instance of PCo required depending on the landscape number and type of data historians to be connected. After installation configure PCo as per the scenario. 2 Installation of SAP NetWeaver 7.3 For more information, see service.sap.com/instguides > SAP NetWeaver > SAP NetWeaver Deploy SAP MII 12.2 or higher on NetWeaver 7.3.
