Agenda A Brief History of Oracle s Mobile BI Options Current Oracle BI Options Oracle BI Mobile Synopsis Day by Day 4

A Brief History of Oracle s Mobile BI Options Oracle s First Mobile Apps Released in the Early Days of OBIEE 11g Connected directly to OBIEE 11g Required VPN Configuration for most clients Displayed Dashboards and Analysis 5

A Brief History of Oracle s Mobile BI Options Recent years have brought a revolution in this space as Oracle s shift to the cloud has also meant a renewed focus on mobile capability. 6

A Brief History of Oracle s Mobile BI Options Oracle s Mobile Evolution continues with a focus beyond access, focusing now on how we consume and act upon data with lessons learned from how we use data in our everyday lives. 7

Current Oracle BI Mobile Options Oracle Mobile BI Standard App for OBIEE Supports OBIEE 11g and 12c Allows Access to Dashboard and Analyses Supports Push Alerts Synopsis Free Standalone App Connects to OAC Standard Edition and above, flat files on your phone, Google Fit Data, and Lens Social Media-esque timeline of visualizations Uses light machine learning to show insights Day by Day Included in Oracle Analytics Cloud Enterprise Edition Connects to OAC data elements Supports on the go visualizations Bring Back features 8

Oracle BI Mobile Read Access to OBIEE environments (OBIEE 12c & 11g) Access pre built dashboard and analyses See visualizations in a timelineesque view 9

Oracle BI Mobile Share links to the dashboard/analysis with other users Access Mobile Apps built in OBIEE Receive push alerts from agents when analyses are refreshed Ability to drill into predefined hierarchies 10

Oracle BI Mobile 11

Oracle Synopsis Free Download in the App Store Does NOT require OBIEE or OAC implementation Timeline-esque view of visualizations Built in connections to flat files from your phone, OAC, your Google Fit data, and even a photo recognition feature to take a photo of a table it will then attempt to parse into data (early days, buggy, but cool) Seems to be precursor to Day by Day 12

Oracle Synopsis 13

Synopsis provides options to customize the visualization Change the chart type Filter the values shown Edit the labels You can also share the visualization, where the chart is converted to an image rather than a link Oracle Synopsis 14

Oracle Synopsis Using the Lens Data Source: Uses your phone s camera to capture data Parses data, which can be finicky Allows you save and edit the data Unclear use cases (at least for me) 15

Oracle Day by Day Included in OAC Enterprise Edition OAC Connection Required but free demo data set is available Timeline-esque look and feel 16

Oracle Day by Day Pick data elements from OAC to form visualizations Generates best guesses for visualization types, which you can then tweak/modify 17

Oracle Day by Day Similar to Synopsis, uses light machine learning scripts to provide details and insights about the data Attempts to serve up next level of data insights by providing answers to questions you may not have considered 18

Oracle Day by Day Bring Back is a scheduling mechanism where you can set reports to refresh based on: date/time (every first of the month) location (every time I am on Joe Nuxhall Way) Share with others in the app or via exports with the ability to comment on or label your favorite visualizations 19

Summary Day by Day is the future of Oracle Mobile BI Synopsis also still actively being developed, likely with best features getting added to Day by Day Oracle is committed to making these apps as modern as the tool interfaces Ongoing commitment to look outside the BI world for inspiration As OAC and cloud options in general become the norm, so will these mobile applications who rely on being able to access the data 20
