4 Background What is Enterprise SPICE? Enterprise SPICE is about: bringing together standards and the SPICE assessment framework to serve the enterprise Enterprise SPICE objectives: Integrate and harmonize existing standards as determined by project stakeholders to provide a single process model to address broad enterprise processes. 5 The Enterprise SPICE Project The Enterprise SPICE Project First proposed, SPICE 2006 in Luxembourg Formally launched, SPICE 2007 in Seoul, Korea Project Structure Sponsor: SPICE User Group Advisory Board: governs the project 15 members voted in every 2 years International Project Leader Volunteer Participants in various roles (board member, author, assessor, reviewer, ) Over 120 project participants from 31 countries Enterprise SPICE Good to Go - Ibrahim SPICE 2010 May

6 Project Phases Enterprise SPICE is being carried out in 3 initial phases: Phase 1: Initial Release: Development of initial Enterprise SPICE Process Assessment Model Phase 2: Deployment and Usage: Communications, Training, Guidance Documents, Structured Feedback Mechanisms, Partnerships, Assessment Oversight, Interest Groups, Tool Support, Phase 3: Subsequent Releases: further enhancements and improvements Enterprise SPICE Good to Go - Ibrahim SPICE 2010 May

7 Development of Initial Release PRM: In 2008, we developed and distributed the draft Enterprise SPICE Process Reference Model (PRM) for international stakeholder review Many hundred comments received and addressed PAM: In 2009, we developed and distributed the draft process dimension of the Process Assessment Model (PAM) Close to 500 comments received and addressed Some trial assessments conducted Release: In 2010, good to go, initial release ready for use Enterprise SPICE Good to Go - Ibrahim SPICE 2010 May

Life Cycle processes that cover typical life cycle of a product or service. Support processes that contribute to success and quality of all processes. Special Applications provide ways Enterprise SPICE processes might be implemented for a particular application.
