WAXWING AVIONICS Aviation Solutions Enhancing Operations and Safety

Who is Waxwing Avionics? Waxwing Avionics founded in the Mission - To build solutions that lower costs, enhance operations and improve safety in aviation. We are a skilled team of innovators with a wealth of expertise in Aviation and Aerospace Communications Network and Engineering

What do we do? Identify Identify the gap in safety and operational aspects in aviation. Certification Certification & Testing of the developed prototype. R&D Adapt the existing application suite or create a new application. Business Deliver to the market through our channel partners and direct sales

What do we offer? LANE flight data downlink system A system designed to capture flight data, audio and video stream from the FDAU through a secure and reliable link, giving authorised personnel near real-time access to flight telemetry for improved operations, situational awareness or assessment and incident management.

What Inspired LANE? Flight data is recorded into a black box in an aircraft with no redundancy and most incidents in aviation damage the stakeholders by incurring huge expenses to recover critical information which in the recent past had limited data or no data at all. The solution if any, has always been 2020 hindsight. If streamed, can the data be put to good use? Can the airline benefit apart from redundant data? Inhibitive costs to manufacturers or airlines for full time data streaming due to large data size. Improved operations, improved pilot performance, better time & incident management.

Functional Aspects Flight Data LANE has 2 parts to the solution 1. An on-board unit (OBU) for data compression, encryption and transmission. 2. An application (GS Ground Station) to access the data stored on the ground. LANE Audio Stream Video Stream

Our USP ICE package offers identification with compression rates up to 99% and dual layer encryption with no loss in data. An Integrated platform to process and analyse data, audio and video in near real-time and share the data through SWIM Unique performance charting and aviation weather data plotting through LUCIAD Lightspeed. Minimal Latency of up to 5 seconds including transmission and processing.

ICE Package 01 Identification Identification Identifies and segregates data block from a pre-defined list of data formats and routes them to its respective compression modules. Compression Hybrid compression technique creates data type based packages during level 1 and combines these individual packages to a single package with compression rates up to 98%. Encryption Compression Encryption Improved key generation logic after each level of compression enabling dual layer security.

Data Processing and Analysis Video Frame Optimisation Dynamic Re-routing on Request Emergency Squawk Identifier Repetitive Data Analysis OBU GS Optimal or Fast Route Calculation Near Real-Time Weather Data & Multi-layer Data Plotting ICE Packaging Audio Silence Detection Near Real-Time Alerts & Warnings Trip Analysis, Ghost Imaging & Report Generation

LANE OBU (On-Board Unit) Data screening to eliminate repetitive data from the incoming parameters after the transmission of the first package. Repetitive Data Analysis Audio Silence Detection Audio analysis to eliminate unwanted transmission of audio below a preset decibel. ICE Packaging LANE OBU Emergency Squawk Identifier Video Frame Optimisation Reduction in the image frame size to a preset frame size without cropping. Identification of emergency squawk code from the incoming data to enable video streaming at 1 frame per second Package data, audio and video and make ready for transmission
