1 2. Click in the Add icon on right 1. In Electronic Health Record (EHR), select Medica8ons tab 3. Select axium erx For students and residents without proper credentials all steps prior to the final faculty approval should be completed (seek assistance if needed) by the care provider.

2 After axium erx opens, maximize the window When entering a patient record for first time in axium erx, allergies to medications need to be entered first Allergy information can be accessed by selecting the Manage Allergies in the top menu bar Allergy information from axium will not be in the erx module and will need to be added during this process or during the DXR/Initial Exam appointment in the erx module. It will transfer to the axium module from the ERx module.

3 (1)Under Common Allergies, use the drop-down menu, ADD the allergy and then (2) select the appropriate reaction. 1 2

4 (3) Add the Onset date or a comment and click (4) ADD 3 4 The Onset Date and Comment box can also be left blank

5 Continue to ADD allergies or click DONE The allergies will appear in the Current Allergies window in the erx module and will be transferred to the axium record

6 PRESCRIBING MEDICATIONS (1)Using freeform text input, type in the first few letters and select Find. Continue to the medication selection window (1) after the allergy information has been entered or confirmed (2) Select the appropriate medication by clicking on the selection

7 (1) Select the Approving Provider from the drop down menu The Approving Provider is the faculty who will eventually sign the Rx. 1 The drop down menus cover all situations for the particular medication you have selected. 2 3 (3) Click CONTINUE (2) Complete the dose information using the drop down menus There are note/comment (optional) sections for: Pharmacy -that patient does not see Patient- additional directions for medication Comments- will show in axium. These will not appear on prescription or be sent to pharmacy.

8 (1) Review the Rx for accuracy (2) If no Pharmacy has been selected or if the pharmacy needs to be changed, click the PHARMACY icon (3) Fill in the known data and click the FIND icon The Pharmacy search engine is very specific so remember that Augusta will not return pharmacies in Evans for example

9 Click the desired pharmacy

10 Review the Rx for accuracy and correct pharmacy Click OK

11 There is now a PENDING prescription, Close erx module This is the end of the care provider entry sequence. Once the erx module is closed the pending Rx is now awaiting final approval by the covering faculty

12 1 (1)Click the ADD icon and select User Sign In (2)Swipe the card reader (3)Enter your UNIQUE signature password and click SEND or PRINT w/o SENDING The final approving faculty will swipe into the system and then enter their UNIQUE Rx signature password with the keyboard to complete the process. The Rx can be sent electronically, printed or only sent to the axium record (this will be used for dispensary distributed medications). 2 3 SIGN w/o SENDING will be used for dispensary distributed medications PRINT w/o SENDING will be used for Controlled Substance Rx (See next page)

14 The Rx information is now recorded in axium

15 1 2 To change your Signature Password (1) click the OPTIONS Icon, (2) click the CHANGE PASSWORD icon and then (3) enter your existing password and the new desired password and (4) click CHANGE 4 3
