2 Description Lexmark s Embedded Solution Framework (esf): Is an application platform that resides on the Lexmark devices Allows java-based applications to run directly on the device Enables customization of the user interface by adding custom solutions Provides for ability to integrate into back-end systems Allows for solutions that enable Lexmark MFPs to be presented in the context of a customer s business In addition to out of the box capabilities, Lexmark touch-screen devices have the esf, Embedded Solutions Framework, which allows for customizing the behavior of the device by writing Java software that runs inside the device. Embedded Solutions tend to be more scalable than solutions that require a middle-ware server system. Download applications with ease from Lexmark s Virtual Solution Center. The Lexmark Virtual Solution Center (VSC) is a patent-pending Lexmark hosted web portal designed to simplify delivery of software solutions to the market, through our partners. The VSC simplifies the process of accessing solutions for Lexmark devices. The VSC also provides several utilities designed to shorten the time it takes and reduce the errors associated with the installation of a software solution in the field.
