Why Unstructured SSBI is Necessary Like a black market, if not embraced it will still live as a world of activity over which I.T. has no visibility It provides an environment with little structure, which allows for personal creativity during data exploration efforts Users that embrace it are generally SMEs, who are more qualified than I.T. to rate valid datasets or calculations Free-form analytics are generally a precursor to standardized reporting Regulated activity does not play well with the trial/error philosophy necessary to discover new data patterns

13 What is CBI? A centralized approach to business analytics that places a high value on standardization, governance, security, and reusability. Typically managed by IT or a BI Center.
