2 OpenLAB Intelligence Reporter - Overview Enable intelligent reporting and knowledge generation via search-based report content selection condense information by visualizing key results (e.g. in trend charts) decision-based result presentation (flag outliers, automatically sort results by pass/fail criteria, etc.) custom calculation (e.g. summary calculations, statistics and complex tests like Grubb) Report on data from all Agilent OpenLAB data systems or from Empower and Chromeleon data Report on Agilent/Non Agilent data stored in Agilent OpenLAB ECM (Waters Empower-Thermo Chromeleon) Agilent OpenLAB Intelligence Reporter Page 2 January 2008

3 Typical Reporting Workflows Single Sequence Summary Report A single sequence is acquired on a ChemStation or Agilent OpenLAB ICM, and is reviewed in the CDS first. The summary report is created for this single sequence only. Multiple Sequence Summary Report Multiple sequences are acquired over time (days to weeks). A user searches for these sequences and creates a summary report for them. Study/Project Summary Report A large number of sequences (10 s to 100 s) are acquired over time (weeks to months). Load sequence data from ECM into ChemStation Data Analysis for review 4. Report is generated and displayed in the preview UI. User can export the report or save it in PDF format in ECM. 2. 11 Multi sequence summary report workflow Prerequisite: ChemStation has acquired and automatically uploaded data from multiple sequences into ECM 1. Start Report UI from ChemStation or Windows Start menu. 2. OpenLAB Intelligence Reporter UI is shown. User searches for data in ECM. 3. Results of the search are shown. User can optionally group or select the records found. 5. Report is generated and displayed in the preview UI. User can export the report or save it in PDF format in ECM. 4. User selects report template and starts report generation

12 ChemStation Intelligent Reporting Available for ChemStation LC and GC data. Intelligent Report Layout enabled by default in the Report Layout view. Intelligent Reporting can be disabled to make the classic reporting report layout available. This is the default for LC/MS, CE and CE/MS. MRC / DA View: Select Single Injection Reports in the method. Select sequence summary reports in the sequence. It's possible to combine classic and intelligent reporting templates, e.g., have classic single injection reports and an intelligent sequence summary report.

13 Intelligent Reporting Report templates are stored in \chem32\repstyle Predefined Report Templates: The system provides a number of predefined report templates, which can serve as a starting point for customers to create their own templates. Result Set Integration: The report templates are copied to the container on the same level as the sequence methods. For single samples, the template is copied into the data file. ECM Integration: Report templates are treated as a new document type (entity) in ECM and integrated in the same way as methods and sequence templates. Report templates can be uploaded, downloaded and updated.
