Predictive analytics: Through the use of pre-built of patterns and questions, and by interfacing with the AXON Predict Analytics engine via the software development kit (SDK), you can build and deploy solutions that predict future behavior based on observed patterns of past behavior. Machine learning: Machine learning is enabled through a variety of patterns adapting their parameters based on prior observations of inputs, failures, anomalies, and so on. These complex patterns can be further aggregated and augmented with external libraries on the edge to learn, adapt, and better solve the specific problem at hand. Artificial intelligence: By assembling the real-time AXON Predict Analytics engine, incloud aggregations, external machine learning tools, and other technologies into complex systems that continually monitor data, predict the future values of input, collect statistics, note anomalies, and take corrective or preventive action, artificial intelligence is enabled to bridge the gap between developing and deploying solutions. 3 On-Device Analytics AXON Predict Analytics operates by reading data streams and then analyzing the data for specific, predefined conditions and performing any operations that may be defined. You can use AXON Predict Analytics to detect device problems before they arise and perform predictive maintenance on devices. If you have new devices, you can use AXON Predict Analytics first to determine the normal operating mode and later to detect anomalies as they occur. The engine allows you to build an analytics-driven application with intelligence and then process critical data at the edge of a network in real time. This enables machines and smart sensors to analyze information at every step of the network, automatically detect anomalies, and take immediate action right at the source of input. Visual Edge Analytics AXON Predict Analytics visual edge analytics capabilities enable rapid development of advanced analytics scripts through a rich interactive interface that includes predefined pattern, computational, and learning templates. The script development is as simple as dragging and dropping the analytics templates into the question builder. Pattern learning templates are deployed to the system to identify baseline normal behavior of end devices and, by extension, the patterns that indicate anomalies and degraded behavior. 3 Product Overview

Real-time visual analytics for a wind farm use case The dynamic nature of AXON Predict Analytics means that as new analytics scripts are developed, they can easily be deployed to the analytics engine through its programmatic API. AXON Predict Analytics engine and action framework is fully integrated with VxWorks message queues and exposed through a common API, enabling you to programmatically submit analytics queries and receive events from the analytics engine interactively. AXON Predict Analytics is packaged in a small, lightweight footprint that consumes a relatively small amount of host device system resources. Pre-built Pattern Library AXON Predict Analytics offers benefits without requiring predictive models. Instead, it provides an environment in which domain expertise and baseline learning can be leveraged for anomaly detection and responsive action. This enables an iterative development environment in which patterns and analytics can initially be quickly defined and deployed to the edge engine, providing feedback and enabling further refinements over time, while the historical picture necessary for developing predictive models is assembled. Real-Time Analytics Once the AXON Predict Analytics engine is deployed and primed with analytics scripts and pattern definitions, it processes the data in real time. Analytics questions are employed to determine operational baselines in an unsupervised learning mode and to support realtime anomaly detection. Actions are registered against the defined patterns, enabling appropriate actions to be taken in response to discovered conditions, such as sounding an alarm or sending a notification message to technicians of an impending issue. In addition, VxWorks processes and applications register with the AXON Predict Analytics engine to receive event messages containing the analytics results and pattern matches discovered by AXON Predict Analytics. Applications will be notified of pattern matches and can take actions appropriate for the discovered conditions, whether it is disabling a system prior to failure, increasing cooling, or supporting any other appropriate response aimed at issue mitigation and device self-healing. 4 Product Overview

5 Designed for Industrial Many industrial systems operate in an offline mode. AXON Predict Analytics continues to run in disconnected environments and autonomously discovers anomalies and patterns in order to generate appropriate actions. In other cases, connectivity may be intermittent or bandwidth limited. In these environments, AXON Predict Analytics edge processing provides a significant benefit in reduction of data. Instead of sending all data to the cloud, AXON Predict Analytics reduces that data to send only key performance information periodically. Detection of anomalies triggers the collection of additional data to support deeper exploration and investigation. Reduced Downtime Organizations in manufacturing or heavy industries, such as transportation, energy, and utilities, often rely on large equipment. When that equipment fails, the organization incurs great cost. But proactive replacements are also costly and produce unnecessary waste. These organizations need to find out about possible failures before they happen. The good news is that this is possible. AXON Predict Analytics analyzes high volumes of sensor data to determine the patterns that occur prior to a failure. When those patterns are recognized, an alert about the potential failure can be sent to the front lines, such as the crewmember on the tarmac or the technician in the oil field, for the appropriate repair.
