4 About this Guide This document explains how to install the software for the Freight Management Plan Board. To use this document, no specific operating system knowledge is required. However, understanding the contents requires a basic general understanding of the Plan Board. The following chapters are included: Chapter 1, Introduction, describes Freight Management Plan Board and outlines the installation and configuration requirements. Chapter 2. Server installation, describes how to install the Plan Board from the Server to the Client. Chapter 3, Client installation, describes how to install the Plan Board directly to the client. 5 Chapter 1 Introduction 1 This document provides a brief description of the Freight Management Plan Board installation, and presents a summary of the installation steps. Product overview The Freight Management Plan Board allows you to create planning with data from the Infor ERP application. Requirements Before you install the Freight Management Plan Board, you must meet the following requirements: Client Hardware: Pentium 90 Mhz. 32 Mb memory. VGA Display adapter. 2 Mb hard disk space. Client software: Windows 95/98/NT4/2000/XP. Infor Windows.

6 1-2 Introduction Baan system software: Infor ERP LN 6.1 Infor ERP Baan Infor ERP must be installed and running. This can be version 6.1, or a more recent version. Solution License Manager Freight Management Plan Board is part of the Infor ERP application. The Infor ERP application is licensed with the Solution License Manager (SLM). Therefore, on the system that is running Infor ERP, you must have an SLM client installed and an SLM server that can provide licenses.

7 Chapter 2 Server installation 2 This Chapter describes the installation of Plan Board version for Infor ERP LN 6.1 and more recent versions from the Server. Check if the following files are present in the /$BSE/c_plus/fm/ directory: Plan board files File Installation.txt Version.txt PlanBoard_Setup.exe icheck.sum Description Server installation info Plan Board version info Setup program Fingerprint for integrity check Note The installation will not run if the /$BSE/c_plus/fm/ directory contains the Plan Board files in a single zipped or packed file. Installation steps To install the Plan board from the server to the client, complete the following steps: 1 Ensure Infor ERP is installed and running. 2 Close all other running applications. 3 On the Menu Browser, click Baan General menu Freight Management Freight Master Data Graphical Plan Board:

8 2-2 Server installation 4 To start the Install Graphical Plan Board (fmfmd9299m000) session, as shown in the following figure, double click Install Graphical Plan Board:

9 Server installation Supply a clean temporary directory to copy the files to. Click Install: 6 Click OK. A message appears that prompts you to continue with the Graphical Plan board installation: 7 Click OK. If the install directory you supplied earlier does not exist, the following message appears:

10 2-4 Server installation 8 Click Yes. The files are copied and the set-up program starts: 9 To continue with the Choose Destination Location dialog box, click Next.

11 Server installation Select a Destination Folder. To continue, click Next: 11 Click Next. The Start Copying Files dialog appears: 12 To make changes, click Back. To start the installation, click Next. When the installation has been successfully completed, the following message appears:

12 2-6 Server installation 13 To exit the setup program, click Finish. 14 On the Baan Menu Browser, click Baan General menu Freight Management Freight Planning. 15 To check if the installation was successful, double click Graphical Plan Board to start the plan board. Note The Plan Board does not run from Infor WebTop.

13 Chapter 3 Client installation 3 This Chapter describes the installation of Plan Board version 2.4 for Infor ERP LN 6 1 and more recent versions. The following files must be included on the client: medium: Plan board files File Installation.txt Version.txt PlanBoard_Setup.exe icheck.sum Description Server installation info Plan Board version info Setup program Fingerprint for integrity check To install the Plan Board on the user s client system, run the setup program (PlanBoard_Setup.exe). This is a standard Windows set-up procedure.

14 3-2 Client installation Installation steps To complete the plan board installation, complete the following steps: 1 Ensure Infor ERP is installed and running. This step is not mandatory for the installation of the plan board, but is mandatory for running the plan board later with Infor ERP. 2 Insert the Freight Management Plan Board medium. 3 Change directories to Freight Management Plan Board Setup Windows. 4 Double click the file PlanBoard_Setup.exe. The InstallShield Wizard will appear automatically. 5 To continue, click OK. Proceed with Step 8 of the installation procedure, as described in Chapter 2, Server installation. Note The Plan Board does not run from Infor WebTop.
