4 Important note We used Google services to complete the Beta stage of our project and to demonstrate its advanced capabilities, G.B.S.E.T realization as a desktop application ( in C # ) and web based ( in Java ) was used only to t illustrate its major functions and operations. We put forward our G.B.S.E.T project as a replacement to currently available standard B2B search engines, with their limited Yellow Pages capabilities and lack of autonomous business conducting services. Project speed, search results quality and some of its main functions where downscaled due to present insufficient hardware capabilities and the currently imposed Google ( our current source of web pages ) ranking, this eventually limited our system full system expansion.* 130+ PPT slides where produced as a general guidelines of our G.B.S.E.T main functions and technologies, yet only covered part of its potentials. * We are certain that the uploading of our projects on more suitable web servers ( after receiving the needed financial funds ) should take care of this problem. 12/9/2009 4

6 Part Two Description of Main System Components and Techniques This is a basic, non technical description of some of the technologies and techniques we developed. More details will be provided upon request. 12/9/2009 6
7 Important Tech Introduction! We will try to explain in non technical terms, the technological differences between the partial implementation of G.B.S.E.T technologies, on top of The Google platform - services (as G.B.S.E.T-G ), and our strategy of having our own servers which will make use of our specially customized B2B version of the web pages. Since we are currently using Google as our temporarily source for web pages, we are facing the difficulty of having Google Pagerank influencing our system internal operations, ultimately effecting our B2B regulated autonomous agent brokering capabilities and tools. Such process required us to redo the main search engines tasks, such as crawling, parsing, analyzing, indexing etc, which was time consuming. At the same time, we needed to demonstrate that we have a functional B2B search engine foundation, not only in theory but with actual business tasks conducting applications, such as desktop C# and web based Java working demos. All what we have to do in the future, to reach our ultimate targets, is to fine-tune our equations, B2B parameters and other operations such as auto-negotiating, contacts handling etc), and provide our project with the needed hardware - B2B oriented repositories. 12/9/2009 7

9 G.B.S.E.T : Research Questions What are the different configurations that characterize B2B marketplaces? What are the dimensions of seller competence and supply chain performance for B2B marketplace classifications? Can we develop operational measures of seller competence with tentative reliability and validity to be useful in future research on the subject? G.B.S.E.T : Research Motivation Need to provide a better understanding of the various B2B electronic marketplaces sellers and buyers use to exchange goods. Create a sustain a position of leadership on the Internet. Paucity of empirical research studying the effects of B2B electronic marketplaces on operations and performance. 12/9/2009 9
