2 Program Overview The future to decision making is data and no industry will remain untouched by it. However, data comes with its own set of issues and challenges. To make the data talk to you meaningfully you will need to work with the data. In this program, you will learn the nuances of data collection, data preparation and model building using real life datasets. You will also learn building supervised and unsupervised machine learning models on real life datasets. You will be introduced to algorithms to solve classification and segmentation problems. We will introduce you to R platform and different algorithms which can be used in the model building activity. At the end of the program you will develop a clear understanding of the need of business analytics and will be able to apply it to solve some interesting problems cutting across various business domains.

At the end of this program the participant would: Understand key concepts on business analytics Understand some of the primary algorithms used for data analysis Understand and apply supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms Understand the various sampling strategies and its efficacy in learning process Gain hands-on experience in applying R on real life dataset Complete a full life cycle of a project using R Be aware of different packages which can be used in R for making robust and complex models

5 Our Faculty KUMAR RAHUL Research Assistant IIMB Data Analytics Kumar Rahul is an alumnus of NIT Jaipur and IIM Bangalore. He has more than 12 years of experience spanning across software development, business consulting, analytical modelling and leading process improvement initiatives. On the technical front, he currently works as a research assistant at Indian Institute of Management Bangalore and has executed several projects in analytics domain and also presented papers at several national and international conferences

6 Our Faculty Lavita Singhania Data Scientist / Senior Analytics Consultant Lavita Singhania has worked as a Data scientist for some of the top consultancies. She s currently a Senior Analytics Consultant at Cartesian Consulting. She has worked on implementing the entire Customer Lifecycle management journey using advanced Analytics and contributed to significantly increasing margins of the brands. She has facilitated around 450+ hours of training in the data science field. With her combination of Engineering, Actuarial Science and MBA, she can leverage data to solve business problems!
