10 Past Performance HHS/CMS Prime Contractor New Medicare Card Platinum is the prime contractor supporting the New Medicare Card policy changes for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS). In a short few weeks, Platinum stood up a cloud-based Amazon Web Service (AWS) and cloud-based Atlassian JIRA Confluence service. This is a scalable and secure web-based solution for CMS that supports the New Medicare Cards and benefits for 58 million Americans. The Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) of Section 501 of this legislation prohibits inclusion of SSNs on Medicare cards. MACRA requires CMS to remove SSNs from all Medicare cards by April A new randomly generated Medicare Beneficiary Identifier (MBI) will replace the SSN-based HICN on the new Medicare cards for Medicare transactions like billing, eligibility status, and claim status. This affects each of the claims systems and transactions at CMS. This is a highly complex CMS policy project that supports not only CMS but the Office Management and Budget (OMB), Social Security Administration (SSA) and Medicare beneficiary providers nationally. We are providing national advisory support and technical expertise regarding medical, and health care operations; health care data analysis; and national health policy development for CMS, SSA and OMB. 10
