25 Enabled Extensions in CloudSuite Form: creating, copying, and extending at the user, group, and site level IDOs: creation and extending Application database schema: table creation and table extension (column addition) Application Event System: creation of event handlers and actions, triggers, and extension of event handlers with alternative actions Not supported: T-SQL coding (triggers, stored procedures, userdefined functions) 25

28 Supported Integration in CloudSuite User Interface Integration Options Infor Ming.le provides context messaging between Cloud Suite and other applications that are configured to run in Infor Ming.le Any Mongoose form can be embedded in a browser frame in external applications that can provide this capability Mongoose forms can be extended to embed external application web content in Browser or User Control form components Because direct access to databases in the MT cloud is not supported, any technique involving ODBC or similar direct access to the databases is not supported 28

29 Best Practice Form Extensions Keep a record (maybe in some forms/idos/tables you add to the application) of the non-trivial extensions you make to forms, to facilitate any testing you may want to do after upgrades. Where possible/practical make your changes additive only: Add new components to a new tab, if the form has a notebook. This will bypass any layout adjustments post-upgrade. Add new event handlers rather than modifying existing ones. Add new methods to form scripts rather than modifying code within a method Consider using the new form wizard s option to extend a base form rather than directly designing a vendor form 29

30 Best Practice Upgrade Tips If you completely alter the logic or purpose of a form, it may be better to copy it to a different name. If you do so, there will be no further synchronizations of changes made to it by Infor, which is a double-edged sword Ensure you have set up the notifications for FormSync prompt cases For server-side logic, leverage the IDO metadata mechanisms now available (validators, child delete rules), the Application Event System, or IDO Extension Classes, rather than T-SQL 30
