1 QUEENSLAND URBAN UTILITIES Position Description ROLE TITLE: DIVISION: BRANCH: LOCATION: ROLE CLASSIFICATION: MANAGER: Manager Analytics Enablement Planning and Digital & Analytics Enablement Information Services Green Square Close Individual / Common Law Contract Name: Senior Manager Planning and Digital & Analytics Enablement Date: 22 May 2017 PRIMARY ROLE PURPOSE: To establish, lead and manage the Analytics Enablement function within Information Services. The role works closely with business and ICT areas to drive the analytics agenda, to deliver high-quality innovative services and to integrate the use of analytics across the business. The role has the opportunity to provide leadership in transforming the way data and information is used and to set strategic direction for business intelligence and analytics. ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES: Establish, lead and manage the Analytics Enablement function in Information Services to enable to utilise existing and build new information assets to enhance its decision-making and performance management, and to define and implement improved service offerings for customers. Lead the development of strategic technology directions for business intelligence and analytics to guide future investments and development of contemporary capabilities. Lead the continued development of business intelligence platform including the corporate data warehouse working closely with business customers to build the continued growth and adoption of the capability for. Work closely with the Enterprise Information Management, Planning, Strategy, Architecture, Customer Engagement and Spatial Services / GIS teams to bring an Analytics focus to strategic ICT directions and implementation roadmaps. Work extensively and closely with business areas to understand data and information requirements to underpin organisational decision-making, business strategy development and customer service delivery. Define, develop/source and implement new analytics systems and approaches for providing broad organisational access to information assets, leveraging existing platforms and expertise as well as building new capability. Provide expert advice to and work with ICT Solution Delivery and ICT Operations leaders to drive cohesion and alignment in analytics and information outcomes across initiatives being progressed within Information Services. Lead and manage a specialist team to ensure the delivery of innovative analytics services, ensuring a smooth transition to business-as-usual support once defined and fully embedded. Manage operational issues within the unit including recruitment, performance management, resource deployment and budgetary expenditure.

2 Ensure compliance with relevant legislation. Maintain current knowledge of business, information and technical developments in order to provide a high level of consultative, expert and advisory services. Provide regular reporting and strategic and actionable advice to the Senior Manager Planning and Digital & Analytics Enablement, the Chief Information Officer and Queensland Urban Utilities Executive Management including relevant governance groups in respect of the areas under direct management. Develop and maintain professional and expert relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including service providers and suppliers, and represent Queensland Urban Utilities at external events as required. Proven ability to lead and manage a diverse team in accordance with relevant legislation and policy, contemporary human resource management principles and practices. Proven ability to develop strategic directions and drive an organisation-wide analytics agenda, ensuring that information assets are leveraged for business advantage and improved customer outcomes.

3 Knowledge and Experience The role requires the following knowledge and experience: Significant proven experience and success in leading the design and implementation of innovative business analytics capability and services across a complex business environment. Extensive knowledge of information, data and analytics and its application in the business environment. Strong knowledge of modern information systems and solution design and experience in contributing expert advice in respect of business analytics, information and data management. Proven experience in transforming the use of information assets, including negotiating potentially disruptive changes across an organisation. Substantial experience consulting and providing ICT services and advice to a diverse user community. Qualifications The role requires the following qualifications: Tertiary qualification in information technology, information management or business analytics (or an associated discipline) and/or substantial management experience in information management or business analytics service delivery.
