4 THE NEED Endeco needed a way to consolidate and visualize real time data from an aggregated demand site unit (DSU), an aggregation of site loads and generators which allows many sites to be combined in a virtual power plant through reduction of site loads or ramping up of generation. THE CONSTRAINTS Endeco s system is used to assist the national energy provider through reduced demand or direct export of generated power back into the system at times of increased demand. The DSU operators need custom interfaces to track overall system information - such as the total aggregated load - through charting tools, and to view at a glance information on individual sites 4

6 PROVEN RESULTS DELIVERED Endeco s DSU system uses B-Scada s Status software to monitor and control about 15MWatts of power. They can now remotely manage the DSU with confidence due to the real time visibilty they have into each of their sites. The aggregated DSU allows customers to bid their capacity back into the energy grid, helping to reduce consumption and decrease costs. Status provided Endeco with the tools they needed to create rich, graphically compelling screens for their data visualizations, and the built-in OPC connectivity made it easy to integrate B-Scada s solutions into Endeco s existing data monitoring operations. B-Scada provides one of the most robust and functionally sophisticated graphic designers in the industry, and B-Scada s solutions leverage the full power of OPC UA to allow communication with numerous data sources.
