3 How the Program is Funded: From PG&E s general operating fund (not the State) Expenses booked to a memorandum account Rate recovery through a future Rate Adjustment Proceeding at the end of the rate freeze Recovery dependent upon PG&E s management of the program 3

4 Process Overview: 3. Applicant Submits Proof of Project Advancement Information & Signed 1. Applicant Contract Completes & Submits Reservation Request Form. 5. Applicant Installs Equipment & then Submits Claim Form. 4. Upon Approval of Project Advancement Information, Program Administrator sends Reservation Confirmation & Claim Form to Applicant. 7. Incentive Paid. 6. Program Administrator Inspects Site. 2. Upon Approval of Reservation Request, Program Administrator Sends Conditional Reservation Notice Letter and Self -Generation Incentive Program Contract to Applicant. 4

10 Meeting the Proof of Project Advancement (continued) Helpful Hints Separate applications and processes are required for electric interconnection (Rule 21 or E-Net) and gas interconnection if needed Get a head start on insurance certificates (Applicant & Host) Provide all documentation prior to 90 day deadline 10

12 Helpful Hints Reservation Confirmation and Incentive Claim Form: All level 2 & 3 projects must be reviewed and approved by Alternative Energy Systems Consulting (AESC) before we will send the Reservation Confirmation and Incentive Claim Form Proof of payment is required (copies of canceled checks) 12

14 Program Extensions: Must follow Handbook requirements Reservation Request Form. 30 days to submit all required information if needed Project Advancement Milestone date. Can request an extension if the delay was something beyond the applicants immediate control Note: A request to change the expiration date of the reservation will be limited to 90 calendar days of additional time. Any requests made within 30 days of the reservation expiration date shall include an explanation of why a more timely request was not possible under the circumstances (section 4.4.5) 14
