1 ACADEMIC AFFAIRS COUNCIL RETREAT AGENDA ITEM: 19 F DATE: August 30-31, 2016 ****************************************************************************** SUBJECT: EAB Academic Performance Solutions During the EAB System s Forum meeting in July, central office staff previewed a new product under development which is designed to assist institutions when making informed decisions around a number of academic indicators. The Academic Performance Solutions platform functions similar to the Student Success Collaborative by providing academic leaders with interactive dashboards to track benchmarks at the institutional, college and department level. EAB representatives followed-up after the session with a variety of resources that some AAC members may find beneficial if they are exploring technology solutions to manage academic decision making at their institution. 1. APS 2016 Launch Overview (Attachment I): Provides a one-page overview of the performance management and benchmarking effort. Developed through EAB member institutions in response to a desire to socialize campus stakeholders, and namely faculty unit leaders, with best demonstrated practices to make critical resource allocation decisions. 2. APS Analyses and Applications (Attachment II): Presents a slightly different approach for considering the types and terms of decision support that early advisors are using APS to leverage from monthly decisions to semester and annual decisions. 3. Screenshots of the analytics platform prototype (Attachment III): Overview of how the tool functions and the analyses that are included. Provides a handful of representative screenshots from the prototype to depict the direction of the effort. ****************************************************************************** RECOMMENDED ACTION Information only.
