IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants. CONTEXT Under the supervision of the Migration Health Informatics Manager, as member of the MHI data analysis team and in close collaboration with the Migrants Application Unit, the Database Reporting Analyst/Assistant is responsible for enhancing existing database Web reports (SQL Server Reporting Services), migrate data reports and database queries from legacy to operational databases and generate new reports requested by IOM HQ, field operations and partner organizations. The incumbent shall further support the team in developing and implementing a migration health data warehouse, the latter to become a central data repository and main source for MHD periodic data reporting and publication, operational performance analysis, statistical information dissemination, health profile and indicator generation. The DB Reporting Analyst/Assistant shall play a main role in developing and providing new, modern business intelligence (BI), data analysis and presentation tools (for example dashboards) for IOM staff at HQ, missions and regional offices, as well as to external partners and the public audience in general. 2 CORE FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES Data Management Improve and automate data validation mechanisms related to the before mentioned operational and reporting systems. Elaborate operational (medical) database metadata and documentation; prepare a MHD database and report queries inventory with the goal to consolidate existing MHD information system content and structure. Review and optimize existing data base queries, views and jobs Assist in the integration of legacy and operational databases with view to reporting and data warehouse generation. Database and Data Warehouse Design Assist in all tasks related to the designing, developing and implementing a migration health data warehouse; in particular help designing and implementing a dimensional data model that reflects MHD business processes and reporting needs, such as migrant operations, health profiles and MHD indicators. Be responsible for the physical implementation of the dimensional data model; generate fact and dimension tables structures and relationships following star or snow-flake schema. Assist in elaborating and take the lead in carrying out ETL procedures required to generate and periodically update the data warehouse content. Data Reporting and Presentation Review, document and optimize existing MS Report Server Web reports and develop new reports as requested by field operations or regional offices. Work on the development of enhanced data presentation tools or applications and the integration of these tools into the MHD Web portal. Make use of JavaScript and HTML5 client libraries for the development of datadriven Web applications and user interfaces for data dissemination. Data Analysis and Business Intelligence Join the MHI team in the exploration and use of data analysis and BI tools for the generation of advanced, Web based data analysis tools and dashboards aimed at operational performance analysis, secondary health data analysis and country or population group profile creation. Generate BI tools and dashboards for different audiences, such as management, medical staff, health assessment programme, external partners and the public in general. Page 2 / 5

3 MHI support tasks Work closely with MHI officer and MHI manager to provide inputs and keep abreast of development in MHI systems used for HAPs reporting, including MiMOSA and UKTB Global Software. Provide support to field data focal persons in data entry, reporting tasks and validation processes. Liaise directly with regional offices, missions and field operations about requests for data and statistical report generation. Maintain MHI s JIRA section for report service requests and issues. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Education University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field from an accredited academic institution, with four years of relevant professional experience; or Completed High school degree from an accredited academic institution, with six years of relevant professional experience; Experience Experience in database, data warehouse and data-driven application architecture design, development and implementation; Manipulation of data in various file formats, reporting from complex databases; knowledge of health indicators, understanding of statistical principles necessary for data analysis would be an asset; Extensive experience in the use of MS SQL Server, MS Reporting Services, MS Analysis Services and MS Integration Services; Proven skills in Business Intelligence systems and tools, such as PowerBI or Excel PowerPivot, and the development of data-driven applications and data presentation tools; Knowledge of statistical principles, methods and software packages and data analysis preferably with a special focus on health and demographics; Work experience or consulting with government agencies or international health agencies highly desirable and experience as co-investigator for public health research/statistical projects an advantage; Good analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as effective communication and independent writing skills. 4 Languages Fluency in English is required. Working knowledge of French and/or Spanish an advantage.
