2 MATTER MANAGEMENT Do you work with matters? Serengeti Tracker does. Serengeti replaces the paper, s and databases that most departments use to manage legal work with organised online data that is searchable, reportable, and always up to date. The result? Unparalleled control to standardise matter intake manage access, review progress and audit changes. PERSONALISED DASHBOARD WITH NOTICES OF KEY DEVELOPMENTS A matter appears on the Dashboard if: (1) there is a material change in status; (2) an electronic invoice is awaiting your approval; (3) a budget needs approval; or (4) there is a document requiring review. Clicking on the Dashboard alert links you straight to the background information you need to take informed action. Optional alerts are also available. GO BEYOND STANDARD MATTER TYPES Customise matter types to manage any type of work that your legal department is handling, such as litigation, transactions and IP, and create customised templates for specialised matter types and industry-specific work (e.g. Advice & Counsel, Subpoenas, Potential Disputes, etc.). Turn default fields on or off, define custom fields and determine which fields will be optional or required. Select who will be responsible for the data entry (company or firm) and when completion of the fields will be required (e.g. 90 days after the matter is created). USING INVOICING TO ENSURE DATA IS TIMELY AND COMPLETE Tie data entry to bill submission and approval. For example, if a legal department requires a law firm to provide matter information, a status report or a budget on a matter, then Serengeti will not allow them to invoice on that matter until the requirements have been met ORGANISE LARGE NUMBERS OF MATTERS Serengeti provides unique advantages for creating, organising and managing high-volume work that may be quick to resolution, or go dormant for many months (e.g., IP, mass torts, employment, etc.) including: Matter cloning Save time by creating a copy of an existing matter with a single click. Matter grouping Matter grouping allows you to assign multiple matters to a group for purposes of tracking shared matter information, budgeting, and reporting. Bulk update of matter information Quickly change matter information across multiple matters from one screen. This is particularly helpful when managing changes to accounting codes, persons responsible, etc. on hundreds of IP matters. Advanced matter data search Use the Simple or Advanced search to find information stored in any matter; save it as a custom search and then export it if necessary. Filters allow you to view results within a date range, matter status, organisational unit, etc. RECEIVE ALERTS FOR SPECIALISED TASKS In addition to the standard Dashboard alerts, there are special notifications for law firm requirements, accounting code review, and departmental budgets / re-forecasts.
