6 Water Tight and Weather Resistant All the components used in the The Heritage System are state of the art. They have been throughly tested in the laboratory and in the field. All components meet or exceed the New Zealand Building Code. They have been appraised for Watertightness, Wind Resistance, Ultra Violet and Thermal efficiency The Heritage System is totally water tight and also has a very efficient water management system, in the unlikely event that water penetration occurs. None of the components used in the Heritage System absorb moisture

7 Thermal Efficiency Cladding of choice in the system is insulated Heritage Cladding. It adds R 0.6 to the whole wall. When used with EVD Vortec building paper, the Heritage Cladding can be fixed directly to the framing. No cavity and no thermal break on steel framing. Heritage Cladding has an insulation which is twice the minimum required thermal break on Steel - Framing,

11 Light Weight and Earthquake Safe These two go hand-in-hand. Back to School. The destructive force in an earthquake situation is the inertia force. This is a combination of Mass and the Acceleration of that mass. FORCE = MASS x ACCELERATION Considering these two components, there is little we can do about the acceleration force, but we can control the Mass and that is exactly what we have done with the Heritage Building System. Steel Framing is 80% lighter than Timber framing Heritage Cladding is at least 75% lighter than weatherboard and 90% lighter that brick. A complete house built using the Heritage Building system can be as little as 25% of the weight of a traditional house and stronger. That means the Heritage house is subject to 1/4 of the inertia force that would be applied to a standard house. Which house would you prefer to be in when the big shake hits?
