Installation Instructions for EXTRTUSION LLI-XR-SML LLI-XR-SM1 Prior to installation, please confirm that you have the required system components listed below. Linear LED Connectors Extrusions/Lens Power Supplies 1

Please read and follow these steps before beginning the installation. These products may represent a potential shock or fire hazard if improperly installed or attached in any way. Products should be installed in accordance with these instructions, current electrical codes and/or the National Electric Code (NEC). Do not connect directly to high voltage power (120v-277v)! To avoid electrical shock, disconnect or disable power at the source prior to installation or maintenance. To avoid electrical shock, use only with 12v or 24v DC hardwire or plug-in power supply. Factory warranty will be void is used otherwise. To avoid product failure, pair the correct voltage power supply to the correct voltage Linear LED e.g. 24v Linear LED with a 24v power supply. Factory warranty will be void if used otherwise. Do not energize Linear LED lighting when rolled up in it s spool. LLIA s Linear LED products are UL listed. Uncoated products are intended for indoor use in dry locations. Coated products are intended for outdoor use in damp /wet locations; Solid Silicone (SS) - IP68, Resin Dipped (RD) - IP65. Solid Silicone (SS) and TPU products are wet rated and can be submerged. Do not use if there is any damage to the unit or to the wiring insulation. Inspect periodically. Do not route cords or Linear LED through walls, doors, windows or any similar part of a building structure. Do not secure Linear LED or it s power cord with staples, nails, or any other sharp objects that may cause damage. Do not install Linear LED lighting closer than 6 to combustible material. Ensure proper gauge wires are installed between Power Supplies, Controls & Linear LED to avoid voltage drop. Ensure applicable wires are in compliance with local codes (In-wall rated, wet-location, high temperature, etc.). Maximum load for power supplies is 80%. ***If you have any questions or concerns about your installation, please call our Technical Specialists at *** 2

Installation of Extrusion and Lens NOTE: Verify that the Linear LED and connector width are sized properly to fit into the channel with no interference to the lens. IMPORTANT: The Linear LED can only be cut at specific points along the tape. It is essential to dryfit your entire assembly to the cut point of your Linear LED before routing out the mounting surface. STEP 1 STEP 2 Measure the channel and cut to the desired length. Make sure to accommodate the profile of the endcap and the desired length for your Linear LED before cutting. STEP 3 Pull the wires through the endcap(s) and remove red adhesive backing from the Linear LED lighting. STEP 4 Carefully place Linear LED inside the aluminum channel and place endcaps onto ends. Ensure a tight fit between the channel and endcaps. LENS OPTION: Measure the opening for the lens between the endcaps. Cut lens to desired length and insert into channel. NOTE: Cut routed channel slightly deeper than depth of channel base to accommodate space for adhesive. 3

STEP 5 Cut out opening in drywall or mounting surface slightly larger than the base width of the recessed channel. STEP 6 NOTE: Ensure power feed wires have accessible route to remote located power supply without any obstructions. STEP 7 Cover lens with masking tape to protect from plastering. Apply a thin layer of drywall joint compound to each side of the routed opening. STEP 8 STEP 9 Insert channel assembly into drywall opening. Ensure power feed wire is pulled to accessible remote power supply location. Place ultra-thin drywall joint tape along each side of the channel edge pressing it into the joint compound beneath. NOTE: Take care not to overlap the drywall joint tape. 4

STEP 10 STEP 11 Using a drywall knife, apply drywall joint compound to cover the edges of the channel and feather out into the wall/ceiling surface. STEP 12 Allow drywall joint compound to dry, then sand and repeat as necessary to achieve your desired smooth finish. STEP 13 Once complete with surface finishing, apply primer coat of paint to seal drywall joint compound. Apply finish coat of paint. Remove tape from diffuser. Power Supply Connection STEP 14 STEP 15 Mount power supply in desired location and connect power feed wire from channel assembly to low voltage output of power supply. Connect power supply input wires to 120vac line voltage and turn on. 5
