The Bostik Stone Solutions adhesive system for stone strips has more than proven itself over the years. TCKI, the Dutch independent research institute and consultation agency for building materials, ceramics and clay, has extensively tested the adhesive system on various surfaces. TCKI analyses raw materials, processes and production techniques and offers advice on issues in the area of safety, sustainability and the environment. At the request of Bostik, TCKI has tested the adhesive system in combination with the most common construction systems, such as the Eter-Backer HD system, Rockpanel Natural and concrete with both high porous and low porous stone strips. The conclusion, based on these test results, is that the Bostik Stone Solutions adhesive system is exceptionally suitable for applying stone strips. ROCKPANEL NATURAL Rockpanel sheet material has been developed for a fast, userfriendly, aesthetic finish of façades and detailing around the roof. The sheets can be handled like wood and are as durable as stone; they are resistant to temperature and weather influences, fireproof, 100% recyclable and allow virtually no distortion. The combination with the flexible Stone Solution adhesive system gives rise to unprecedented architectonic possibilities. ETER-BACKER HD SYSTEM At the heart of the Eter-Backer HD system design are Eternit fibre cement sheets. These are attached to a ventilating framework of conserved wood slats. The stone strips can be glued to the fibre cement sheets with the Bostik Stone Solution system. This construction is completely suitable for sustainable outdoor applications. The cavity remains usable for ventilation and extra thermal insulation. In this way, new and creative architectonic possibilities are created, both in new developments and in renovation, whereby the light weight of the complete structure is of important added value. 4 Smart adhesive system for prefab Prefabrication is a process in construction whereby materials are put together into elements in advance in a factory or workshop, after which they are transported to the building site and further processed there. The Bostik Stone Solution adhesive system is extremely suitable for applying stone strips in combination with Prefab building systems because of the rapid and strong adhesion and because, when applying the adhesive, no dust is caused. Since the prefab-elements can always take place under the same conditioning circumstances, a higher and more consistent quality can be guaranteed than when these are made at the building site. Façade-filling elements, with complete pointing and even fitted with window frames, can contribute to a rapid processing at the building location. The Bostik Stone Solution adhesive system ensures a high-quality, durable and elastic adhesion with an extremely high initial adhesion whereby there is no risk of loose or falling stone strips. Furthermore, no electric tools are required when attaching the stone strips with the Bostik Stone Tack, which means that noise is eliminated.
