1 DESCRIPTION C-Floor Varnish E420 QS is an epoxy varnish for floors with the following main properties: - Suitable for quartz colour systems - Suitable for the high build mortars systems - Hard and high abrasion resistance - High chemical and mechanical resistance - Fire resistant - CE Marking product according to EN MAIN APPLICATIONS C-Floor Varnish E420 QS is recommended for floors with coloured and natural silica s, high thickness epoxy mortars and as a primer for epoxy screeds. It can be overcoated with various topcoats from the C-Floor range. The application field of this product is very varied, ranging from industrial floors, laboratories, hospitals or warehouses, as well as housing, commercial premises, garages and other places which require a resistant, washable finish. Owing to its mechanical properties, it provides good resistance to wear, heavy traffic and impact. Resistant to splashes and spillages of a wide range of chemical products. For specific applications, consult our Customer Service. SURFACE PREPARATION Surfaces must be clean, dry and with suitable roughness, prepared by using of shot blasting, mechanical cleaning using a multi-purpose machine with diamond discs (or other type of abrasive) or milling. The concrete will need to be cure for at least 28 days before the application the C-Floor Varnish E420 QS system and have a minimum compression resistance of 25 N/mm² and tensile strength of de 1,5 N/mm². The product must not be applied on concrete surfaces subject to negative water pressures, except when applied over cementitious mortar resistant to these hydrostatic pressures. APPLICATION CONDITIONS Add the Cure to the Resin component and homogenise for 5 minutes. In enclosed areas there must be good ventilation during application and drying to allow the solvents to evaporate. Ambient application conditions: Temperature 10 to 35 ºC Relative humidity less than 75 % Temperature of the substrate 3 ºC above dew point and minimum of 10ºC Temperature of the material Concrete humidity Application equipment: Toothed trowel, smooth metal spatula and rubber spatula In applications as a varnish and with coloured or natural silica Concrete mixer, spreader, helicopter, float and rubber spatula In applications as a Epoxy mortar Trowel metal curve and brush In applications as a coving screed between 15 and 25 ºC. less than 4 % measured at a depth of 1,5-2 cm according ASTM F2659 and measure (with Tramex equipment type). APPLICATION SYSTEMS Sealing and varnishing On smooth surfaces Apply by toothed trowel or rubber spatula, at a rate of g/m². When applied with a toothed trowel it is necessary to run the spiked roller over the areas applied to eliminate the air bubbles. On very rough and irregular surfaces To fill the existing cavities and irregularities more effectively, using a smooth metallic trowel apply one coat C-Floor Sealer E140 + Quartz G300 fine regularising mortar, in the ratio 1:0,3 to 1:0,5 by weight. Varnish consumption: approx kg/m². If the floor has large irregularities, fill them with an epoxy mortar (mixture of C-Floor Sealer E140 and silica Quartz G800 AGS + Quartz G450 in a weight ratio varnish: silica of 1:6). Note C-Floor Varnish E420 QS must be applied between 4 and 24 hours after applying C-Floor Sealer E140 and when the latter shows some superficial tackiness. If the overcoating cannot be carried out within 24 hours, we recommended roughening the surface by sprinkling silica onto the damp C- Floor Sealer E140, brushing off the excess the following day, once it is dry. 3 / 7

6 OBSERVATIONS AND NOTES The product can be used indoors, although when exposed to UV rays it can yellow slightly. a) This product must be used in the nearest colour possible to that of the natural silica. To avoid altering the colours of the natural silica, this product can be diluted with C-Floor Varnish E420 QS in the ratio 2:1 by weight. b) Owing to the very low density of the thickener, it must be incorporated with a slow rotation mechanical stirrer. HOMOLOGATIONS AND CERTIFICATES Fire Reaction Classification in accordance with standard EN : B fl-s1 (fire resistant with low smoke emission).
