We use natural raw materials in our products, which means that the stated values can vary slightly in the same delivery batch; this does not affect the suitability of the product for its intended use. Substrate Requirements Preparations The substrate must be firm, level, dry, load-bearing and free from grease and dust. The suitability of the fixing method for the substrate must be assessed individually on site. Damp or not fully cured substrates can lead to defects in following layers, such as bubble formation or cracks. Check existing coatings for their suitability and load-bearing capacity. Remove any non load-bearing or structurally weak coatings. If necessary, clean the substrate. Rev. no.: 6 / SG / / 2/8

3 Application Application temperature Lowest temperature of substrate/air: +5 C Highest temperature of substrate/air: +30 C Processing time At +20 C: approx. 60 minutes Mixing ratio 6.3 l of water per 25 kg Material preparation Pour water into a container and add the pre-blended dry mortar. Stir for approx. 2 minutes, allow to mature for approx. 3 minutes, and then stir again for approx. 30 seconds. Consumption Type of application Approx. consumption reinforcement kg/m² reinforcement for StoTherm Wood kg/m² bonding of EPS boards kg/m² bonding of mineral wool boards and soft fibre boards kg/m² adhesive application on the wall in case of EPS rigid foam boards and Speed Lamellas kg/m² additional bonding of insulation boards in case of rail fixing kg/m² Bonding of StoReno Plan kg/m² bonding of Resol insulation boards 4.00 kg/m² Levelling compound for dowel heads and recesses, also used as smoothing filler kg/m² per mm of layer thickness 1.28 kg/m² Rev. no.: 6 / SG / / 3/8

4 Material consumption depends on the application, substrate, and consistency, among other factors. The stated consumption values are only to be used as a guide. If required, determine precise consumption values on the basis of the specific project. Application manually, by machine Bonding: Apply the product manually with a rust-free steel trowel, or by machine. Immediately press or float the insulation boards into the fresh bonding mortar bed, then apply some more pressure. Amount of adhesive for adhesive application onto the wall: When using EPS boards from Sto, at least 60 % of the board must be covered with adhesive. In case of Sto-Speed Lamellas, at least 50 % of the board must be covered with adhesive. Amount of adhesive on the board for adhesive application: At least 40 % of the board must be covered with adhesive. In case of EWI systems with ceramic cladding, basically 60% of the board must be covered with adhesive. Reinforcing: Apply the product manually with a rust-free steel trowel, or by machine. Fully embed the mesh in the upper third of the reinforcement, i.e. into the reinforcing compound while it is still moist. The mesh joints must overlap by 10 cm. Diagonal reinforcement must be carried out on building openings (windows, door reveals, etc.). Recommended average reinforcement layer thickness of 3-5 mm. With StoTherm Wood, the average reinforcement layer thickness is 5-7 mm. The specified value is a reference value. Depending on the area of use (corners, reveals, etc.), the layer thickness can vary significantly. Application by machine (mixing and/or pumping) is the preferred method. The product can also be applied with commonly available plaster spray machines for fine textured render. Drying, curing, ready for next coat Drying time depends on the temperature, wind and relative humidity. During unfavourable weather conditions it is very important to apply suitable protective measures (e.g. protection against rain) to the work in progress and freshly completed facades. Depending on the weather, curing takes approx. 1 day/mm of layer thickness. Rev. no.: 6 / SG / / 4/8

5 At +20 C temperature (air and substrate) and 65 % relative humidity, the next coat can be applied after approx hours. Cleaning the tools Clean tools with water immediately after use. Indications, recommendations, special information, miscellaneous Further details for application can be found in the system-related application guidelines. Delivery Colour shade natural white Tintable Not tintable. Packaging sack Storage Storage conditions Store in dry conditions. Storage life This product is low in chromate content. The quality of the product in its original container is guaranteed until the maximum storage life has expired. The storage life date can be deduced from the batch number of the container. Batch number explanation: Number 1 = the last number of year, numbers = a calendar week i.e.: storage life until week 45 of the year 2015 Certificates/approvals ETA-03/0027 StoTherm Classic 1 (EPS and StoArmat Classic) ETA-05/0098 StoTherm Classic 2 (EPS and StoLevell Classic) Rev. no.: 6 / SG / / 5/8
