13 Site Hazards Site hazards are constantly changing on a live site. Toolbox talks will follow once a new hazard, i.e. live services, has been identified. The notice board in the canteen and on all floors will be kept up to date with the current site hazards.

14 Site Hazards The following hazards are what should be expected on this site: Live services. 240 v power within ceiling void. Trip hazards. Lifted raised access floor. Live Sprinkler. Under floor services. Working at height.

15 Before Commencing Work Site Operatives Must Prior to commencing work you need to make sure that: You receive a brief by your supervisor on the MS and RA of the activity you are about to carry out. That you have the minimum PPE and the specific, if any, imposed by the RA and MS. That you have made yourself familiar with the site layout.

16 Before Commencing Work Supervisors Operatives Must Prior to commencing work you need to make sure that: You have briefed your gang on the MS and RA of the activity they are about to carry out. That they have understood and signed the briefing form, copy of which needs to be issued to the your Project Manager. That your gang have the minimum PPE and the specific, if any, imposed by the RA and MS. That you have made yourself and your gang familiar with the site layout.

17 Site Rules- House Keeping Smoking is not permitted anywhere on this site. No Spitting. No Alcohol. No Drugs.

18 Site Rules- House Keeping Prohibited devices! - No Radios. - No ipods.

19 Site Rules- House Keeping Tidy up at the end of each working day. Contractors will be charged if they fail to do this. Keep all access routes clear of stored materials and rubbish. Clear up spillages immediately. Remove or bend-over projecting nails.

20 Site Rules- PPE Minimum PPE: - Hard Hat. - High visibility vest. - Steel toe boots. - Gloves. Safety helmets, high visibility vest, gloves and safety footwear must be worn at all times whilst on site. Other PPE will be detailed in task specific risk assessments, the Permit to Work and any signage erected in the work area.

21 Site Rules- Work At Height Hierarchy of use: - Avoid work at height - PECO S - Scaffold towers - Podiums - Enclosed steps - Step ladders (confined spaces)

22 Site Rules- Work At Height Ensure people cannot fall - choose & use the right equipment. Ensure objects cannot fall onto others below. All scaffold towers / podium steps must be erected by a trained person. Scaffold towers/ podiums must have an up to date scaff tag on display.

23 Site Rules- Work At Height Steps are only allowed in confined spaces and with a method statement in place along with a step ladder permit and justification for use of steps form. Manage ladder use there must be a valid risk assessment. Wooden steps are prohibited!

25 Site Rules- Electricity 110v supply only. Only use tools and leads that are in good condition. Make sure it s dead, so that you stay alive. Secure isolations must be made - by competent and authorised persons only. All power tools must be PAT tested prior to use.

26 Site Rules- Plant and Vehicles Keep vehicles physically separate from people. Reversing vehicles kill always use a banksman. Banksman allocated the task is competent and trained to do so. Do not operate vehicles where overturning is a risk. Ensure all vehicles are competent/appropriate to carry out the task in hand.

27 Site Rules- Confined Spaces The first step is to recognise a confined space if in any doubt, ask! Ensure that you work to the Permit and risk assessment. Ensure there is an emergency plan in place. Use appropriate tools that will not create a hazard for yourself or others. Correct PPE must be worn at all times.

28 Site Rules- Lifting Equipment Use of lifting equipment must be planned and have a risk assessment - ask your supervisor. Never use lifting equipment that you have not been trained & authorized for. Use appropriate lifting equipment for the task in hand. Barrier-off the lifting area.

29 Site Rules- Lifting Equipment Ensure ground loading is OK and that there are no overhead restrictions or underground services that affect the lift. Safety helmets, high visibility vest, gloves and safety footwear must be worn at all times whilst on site. Other PPE will be detailed in task specific risk assessments, the Permit to Work and any signage erected in the work area.

30 Emergency Arrangements- Fire Do not attempt to collect any tools. Do not attempt to tackle a fire if you are not trained to do so. Do not put yourself or others into danger. Muster point: Spencers Place

31 Accidents All accidents and near misses must be reported to the Overbury project office on Level 3. The first aid box and emergency eye wash provided by Overbury is located in the Overbury project office on level 3. All first aiders will have a first aid sticker affixed to their hard hat.

33 Environmental Management All waste will be segregated on site into the relevant bins provided. The bins are signed: - Mixed. - Metal. - Wood. - Plasterboard. - Cardboard. - Hazardous.

34 Environmental Management Please ensure that you segregate the waste to these bins. Ensure that debris is not left on floors and is placed in the bins provided for you. We also provide spill kits on the floor next to the fire points.

35 Site Managers/Supervisors You will be required to be a first aider. The main point of contact for any health and safety concerns. You will be required to carry out MS / RA briefings, copies of which will have to be issued to our site secretary. You will also be required to carry out weekly toolbox talks, copies of which will also have to be issued to our site secretary.

36 Site Managers/Supervisors When alarm is raised we need to evacuate the building by the fire exits, located in the main cores. Go directly to the muster point Spencer Place Only return back to site once instructed by Overbury.

43 Z Cards In front you will find two Z cards, a H&S and a PD one. The Z cards will provide you information regarding the minimum standard expected on all Overbury sites. You will also find, at the back of the H&S Z Card a telephone no that you can call and report, anonymously, any health and safety concerns that have not been actioned by the site team.
