Unit prices were required for the fire protection upgrade. All other conditions and specifications remain unchanged. This addendum must be completed, and attached to your Tender form. 4 MARPOLE PLACE SECTION RENOVATIONS WOOD SLAT CEILING CITY OF VANCOUVER PAGE SECTION INCLUDES.1 Supply and installation of wood slat ceiling as indicated on the drawings and as specified herein..2 Suspension system for wood slat ceiling..3 Seismic restraints for suspended ceiling system. 1.2 RELATED SECTIONS.1 Section Painting Arch Addendum 4.3 Section Electrical 1.3 SUBMITTALS.1 Shop Drawings: Submit shop drawings In accordance with Section Submittal Procedures. Show reflected ceiling plan(s). Dimensions and details of edges, joints, light fixtures, air-handling grilles, smoke detectors, sprinklers, speakers, etc. that may penetrate the ceiling (and/or wall), should be shown on the drawings..2 The shop drawings including the design for the suspension system shall be signed and sealed by a specialty engineer registered in the Province of British Columbia. Provide Letters of Assurance in compliance with the VBBL.3 Samples: Submit one 12 wide by 3-0 long sample panel of each type of wood species and model specified. Finish to slats and connector bars as specified. 1.4 DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING.1 Materials shall be delivered to the site in protective cardboard boxes. Plastic wrap will not be acceptable and will be justification for rejection of the material..2 Materials shall be stored in the original boxes, bearing the name of the manufacturer, in a warm, dry, protected area until ready for the final Installation..3 Materials shall be protected before, during and after installation until final completion of the project in the event of damage, immediately make the necessary repairs or replace to the approval of the Consultant and at no cost to the Owner. 1.5 PROJECT CONDITIONS.1 Coordination: Coordinate with the work of the other Sections..2 Installation: Ceiling shall be installed prefinished, after the installation of associated work and painting by others. 2.1 MATERIALS.1 Wood Slats: Shall be Medite FR by Geometrik - painted. 5 MARPOLE PLACE SECTION RENOVATIONS WOOD SLAT CEILING CITY OF VANCOUVER PAGE 2.2 Size: Member sizes to be as illustrated on the drawings. 2.3 SUSPENSION SYSTEM.1 Hanger Wire: Shall be a minimum #12 gauge galvanized annealed steel. 2.4 EXTRA MATERIALS.1 Wood slat ceiling and wall panels: Furnish quantity of full size units equal to 2% of amount installed..2 Suspension System Components: Furnish quantity of each component equal to 2% of amount installed. 2.5 FABRICATION.1 Fabricate panels in steel jigs to assure consistent and equal slat spacing. 2.6 FINISHES.1 Paint See EXAMINATION.1 Examine all surfaces and conditions to which the Work of this Section shall be applied, at the time of bidding for existing jobs or prior to installation for new jobs. Ensure that conditions are satisfactory to perform a complete installation. Special consideration should be given to the level of moisture content in any space where the Panels are to be stored or will be installed. 3.2 INSTALLATION.1 Install a suspension system in strict accordance with the manufacturer s instructions. Review shop drawings and coordinate with other trades before starting any work. The assembly shall be level to within 1/8 in 12-0 length..2 Supports for this ceiling system shall be independent of wall, columns, pipes and ducts. Erect plumb and securely fastened to the structure above. 3.3 CLEAN-UP.1 At completion replace any defective, damaged or marked wood panels. Adjust and level suspension system as required..2 Promptly, as the work proceeds and on completion, clean up and remove from the site any surplus material, packaging and debris resulting from the work of this trade. PS CONTRACTOR FOR MARPOLE PLACE RESTORATION SCHEDULE A REVISED (PART C - FORM OF TENDER) These unit prices will be used for changing quantities from those indicated in the Tender Documents or Contract Documents upon written instruction from the City. The unit prices will be applied in accordance with PART 6 CHANGES IN THE WORK of the General Conditions of the Stipulated Price Contract (CCDC ), as modified by the Supplementary General Conditions (Schedule 1 to Part D Form of Agreement). The prices should include (i) all labour, material and other costs, (ii) overhead and profit, (iii) PST, and (iv) all other taxes, duties, assessments, charges and fees, except for GST.
