1 In 1993, Sipla Nordic AB was founded in Helsingborg. Since then, we have the concept of manufacturing and developing tubing, profiles, seals, and gaskets in high-quality silicone rubber. We are also known for offering excellent service to our customers. Our development has proceeded rapidly, and presently we have around 500 customers. We convert in excess of 100 tons of silicone rubber per year. Our customers range widely, from small specialized niche companies to multi-nationals. 2 -a material that goes on finding more applications. Silicone rubber is a compound of silicon (obtained from quartz sandstone and carbon) - two natural substances found on earth. As much as 27 % of the earth's surface consists of silicon. Depending on treatment and additives, it is possible to create silicone rubbers with varying properties for different applications - including such extremes as insulators or conductors of either electricity or heat. In its basic form, silicone rubber is transparent in colour, but it can be pigmented to all the colours of the rainbow plus a few more (see standard chart on the following page). As you will see throughout our brochure, we will present Sipla Nordic AB wide range of products and the components, we have in our repertoire, as well as some of the possibilities offered by silicone rubber. Silicone is highly resistant to UV (ultra violet), heat, cold, ozone and radiation. Silicone comes in a range of qualities suitable for use in food or medical applications. Silicone has excellent flexibility and can be both stretched or compressed. Silicone can be either electrically insulating or electrically conductive. Silicone comes in a range of hardness from 20 to 90 Shore A. Silicone can be obtained in a range of qualities resistant to temperatures from -116 C to +315 C (even higher for intermittent periods). Silicone does not support growth of either bacteria or mould. Silicone comes in all colours of the rainbow - plus a few more. Silicone maintains its mechanical properties over a wide range of temperatures.

3 Properties/Applications... Mechanical properties; general: Compression set %, elongation at break %, tensile strength 4-18 N/mm2, tear resistance N/mm, hardness Shore A. Heat: Normal qualities up to +200 C, special qualities up to +315 C (higher with intermittent periods). Cold: Normal qualities down to -45 C, special qualities down to -116 C. Sunlight: Most types of silicone are very resistant to ozone, UV and electric arc discharges. Food industry: Tubing, gaskets, seals for coffee, soft drink, or milk dispensers as well as a wide range of machinery for the food industry. Silicone rubber is available in qualities which do not give off tastes or odours to comply with the regulations of the FDA and BGVV. Chemical industry: Special types of silicone are more resistant to chemicals, oils and solvents. Medical industry: Silicone is increasingly used for machines and equipment related to the health sector. Examples are tubes, valves, seals, and components. In these examples, silicone's properties as a conductor or insulator of either heat or electricity are in demand. Silicone rubber is used for dialysis machines, incubators, respirators, urine equipment, blood transmission, saliva, pumps and heart-lung machines. Silicone rubber resists autoclaving as well as radiation and gas sterilization. Silicone rubber is available in qualities that comply with FDA, BGVV, USP, Euro-Pharmacopoeia and ISO Fire safety: In seals, properties such as flexibility, fire isolation, flame inhibition, and resistance to heat, cold or UV are required. Certain types of silicone rubber comply with UL94V1 and under certain conditions V0. Electronics: Seals, tubes, gaskets in electrical, thermally insulating or conductive qualities. Also used for shielding of television, radio or communications equipment. Electric lighting: Resists heat and UV, and can also be either electrically conductive or insulating. Building industry: Resists heat, cold, and UV. It is also flexible, elastic and resists decay. Rollers: Special qualities can be shrunk on to rollers with or without heat. Steam: Special qualities are highly resistant to steam and water. Used in such widely separate areas as espresso machines and autoclaves. X-rays: Ordinary silicones are invisible to X- rays. However, special qualities can be made X-ray detectable. Telecommunications: Used for example: EMS seals and gaskets. In addition to these examples, silicone rubber has many other properties and applications. NOTE: Silicone sponge rubber has other properties and applications Ventilation: In seals, properties such as UVresistance, fire isolation, flame inhibition, resistance to heat, cold or chemicals are required.

5 Tubing Tubing of silicone rubber are available in a wide range of colours and hardnesses, with various technical properties meeting the requirements of FDA , BGVV, USP, Euro. Pharmacopoeia and ISO As a stock line, we have a transparent quality in 60 Shore A, available in 25 meter rolls, prepacked in sealed bags in a wide range of sizes. Other qualities and sizes can be manufactured to specified orders. Other qualities and sizes can be manufactured to specified orders. Cut tubing We can supply cut tubing in various lengths, specially suited for your products. We offer everything from straight, V- capped or oblique cut tubing. Tubing with printed text We deal with all sorts of print in colours of your choice: company name, date, batchnumber or other requirements. Co-extruded tubing Sometimes tubing is required to be made in more than one quality, for example, soft inside and hard outside, transparent inside and coloured outside or with different technical characteristics inside and out. We have the resources and knowledge to manufacture precisely to your own requirements and specifications.

6 Special tubing Sometimes tubing has to be manufactured to special requirements. These could be multi-passage tubing (two or more internal passages) which can carry different liquids in the same tube. We can also extrude several tubes together in the same or different sizes. X-ray opaque tubing Often silicone tubing cannot be seen on X- rays but by manufacturing special qualities, we can produce tubing that are visible. Another method is to incorporate a wire opaque to X-rays as the tubing is extruded. Platinum catalysed tubing Platinum catalysis can provide the solution to the production of tubing with the absolute minimum of odour or taste, in compliance with FDA, BGVV, USP, Euro- Pharmacopoeia and ISO requirements. Tubing for general applications We manufacture tubing for various applications and requirements, including protective tubes, transport tubes for cable feed-through bushings and electrical insulation. These tubes can be utilized in the medical sector, food industry, the mechanical and electrical equipment industries or any other demanding environment involving exposure to heat, UV-radiation, etc. Large tubing Used for applications such as roll-covering.

7 Profiles Profiles in silicone rubber We produce tailored extruded profiles in silicone just as you specify: shapes, colours, and hardnesses demanded by various medical or food-related requirements and with different mechanical properties - all suited to your needs. Cut profiles The cutting of tubes and profiles to specified lengths from 1 mm upwards. Soft quality Our special equipment enables us to extrude components in silicone down to 20 Shore A. Also available in qualities, meeting medical and food industry requirements. Co-extruded profiles Do you want a profile that's black at one end and white at the other? Or soft at the top and hard at the bottom? Or heat insulating inside and oil resistant outside? For us, nothing is impossible! Profiles: round or rectangular Used for sealing and available in qualities approved for use in medical and food contexts. We stock one quality in 60 Shore A which complies with the food and medical requirements of the FDA and BGVV.

8 Silicone sponge rubber Profiles, strips, tubes - we offer the whole range of shapes and sizes. These are also available in different colours and hardnesses. Applications are often in the form of round or slightly larger rectangular profiles that provide sealing against heat or cold, especially in the food industry. Available in both technical and food-industry qualities.

9 Gaskets Gaskets By vulcanising or pouring, we can also join together O-rings, tubes, or profiles with single or twin-component adhesives. We can produce round, rectangular or irregular sections, with or without different combinations of metal or plastic components. Tell us what you want and we will make it. Inflatable seal To obtain the desired level of sealing, in some cases, it requires inflation with air at above or below atmospheric pressure. We manufacture according to your specifications with tubes or valves as inlet or outlet nozzles. Major users are the food, medical and pharmaceutical industries with applications in hotboxes autoclaves, incubators, etc. Die-cut gaskets There are no limits - we supply entirely in accordance with your requirements: heat insulating, heat conducting, sponge rubber, electrically conductive, electrically insulating, oil resistant, in various medical and food-industry approved qualities. The shapes can be round, rectangular or other shapes.

10 Conductive/EMS Electrically conductive silicone quality We offer qualities with varying resistance from 2 Ohm/cm for use in, eg, the electronics, telecommunications and medical industries. EMS EMS (Electro Magnetic Shielding) is often used in the automotive, electrical and telecommunications industries for screening or to discharge static electricity and also other unwanted interference.

11 For doors and windows - special silicone strip seal As you can see, silicone rubber seals is definitely beneficial. Silicone strip seals help windows and doors become more energy efficient. It is resistant to UV rays, cold and heat, flexibility - able to keep its form, even though it maybe compressed. We have the capabilities of manufacturing silicone strip seals that does not stretch. Today Sipla Nordic AB manufactures more than 200 different strip seals in different hardnessess and colours. On the chart below, you will find a few examples of our strips.
