The appliant has inluded an administrative approval for a similar addition that also reeived approval for tax redits through SHPO. Details of Proposed Request Existing ontext The existing struture is a one story Vitorian house onstruted in 1900 and listed as a ontributing Struture in the Dilworth National Register of Histori Plaes. The lot is 200 in depth. The other homes on the blok are also Vitorian style. Proposal The projet is a two story rear addition, overed patio, and a one story detathed aessory building/ar port. The new addition is approximately above the existing ridge line. New siding, trim and window pattern (2/2) will math the house. The rear twin gables and existing porh will be removed. The new roof is a single gable with domers on both sides. Poliy & Design Guidelines for dditions, page 7.2 (New Guidelines) 1. ttempt to loate the addition on the rear elevation so that it is minimally visible from the street. 2. Limit the size of the addition so that it does not visually overpower the existing building.. ttempt to attah new additions or alterations to existing buildings in suh a manner that, if suh additions or alterations were to be removed in the future, the essential form and integrity of the building would be unimpaired.. Maintain the original orientation of the struture. If the primary entrane is loated on the street faade, it should remain in that loation. 5. Maintain the existing roof pith. Roof lines for new additions should be seondary to those of the existing struture. The original roof as visible from the publi right-of-way should not be raised. 6. Make sure that the design of a new addition is ompatible with the existing building. The new work should be differentiated from the old while being ompatible with its massing, form, sale, diretional expression, roof forms and materials, foundation, fenestration, and materials. 1
