This load need not be considered to act simultaneously with the guardrail loads.6 Handrails: Concentrated load of 0.9 kn applied at any point and in any direction - Uniform load of 0.7 kn/m applied in any direction to the handrail.4 Submittals.1 Submit with bid proposal a schematic plan showing general design and seat locations complete with decking and aisle layout plan.2 Submit manufacture s approved shop drawings signed and sealed by a licensed professional engineer registered to practice in the province or state of the project for each of the following grandstand components (if applicable): primary and secondary framing, bracing, decking, supports for seats, aisle steps, aisle handrails, hardware, ramp and stair framing, handrails and guardrails.5 Quality Assurance.1 Codes and Standards: Design, fabrication and installation shall be in accordance with the latest editions of all codes and standards referenced in this specification

3 .2 Installer Qualifications: Experienced erectors specialized in installing grandstands of similar size and scope described for this project.3 Manufacturer Qualifications: Provide 5 references pertaining to similar grandstand related contracts including owner s name, contact information, scope of work and date completed.4 Welders: Certified to CWB requirements of CSA specification 47.1 (Steel) and 47.2 (Aluminum).5 Delivery: All components are not to be damaged during delivery. Package components accordingly and store items in a manner to prevent staining, denting and other visible damage. Mill finished aluminum must be properly stored on site during installation process to ensure that discolouration of material does not occur due to moisture entrapment.7 Warranty.1 Products manufactured by Sport Systems Canada Inc. are warranted for published periods against all defects in materials and workmanship starting after the date of substantial completion of the project. The warranty does not apply to any damage resulting from neglect, misuse, improper handling of material, acts of God or improperly executed site preparation.2 Anodized and powder coated finishes of aluminum plank extrusions are warranted for a period of three years against loss of structural strength of finish deterioration due to weather or UV exposure. Discolouration of mill finished aluminum due to galvanic reaction is not covered.3 Steel Structure is warranted for five years for structural integrity and workmanship Part 2 PRODUCTS.1 Acceptable Manufacturers.1 Sport Systems Canada Inc. 28 Industrial Drive Almonte, ON K0A 1A0 Tel Fax info@ssci.ca Other manufacturers seeking approval must receive the owner s approval prior to submitting a bid. The following is required to be considered for approval: - Work experience record complete with contact information - Profile of five similar projects completed with detailed photographs and scope - Curriculum Vitae for key personnel - Proposed seating plan complete with aisle locations - Proposed elevation complete with dimensions and member sizes - Seat plank, decking arrangement and riser plank samples including end caps - Guardrail assembly complete with handrail/pickets/connections etc.2 Supporting Members (Framework).1 Main supporting members (stringers) shall be wide flange steel shapes with one piece laser cut and bent decking supports and shall be hot dipped galvanized after fabrication and spaced at 6-0 (1830 mm) on centre (maximum).2 Main supporting members (columns) shall be wide flange beams hot dipped galvanized after fabrication and spaced at 18-0 (5486 mm) on centre in direction of seating system and no more than 24-0 (7315 mm) in the transverse direction of the seating system

4 .3 Horizontal cross beams shall be wide flange steel shapes and run continuously for the length of the grandstand.4 Columns shall be laterally supported with double angle steel cross bracing hot dipped galvanized after fabrications. Placement of cross bracing and horizontal compression struts will be a function of the grandstand design and geometry.3 Aluminum Planking System.1 Decking system to consist of full 1-3/4 (45 mm) high 6063-T6 mill finished aluminum extrusion for floorboards. Decking shall be tongue and groove design. Any extrusions that do not meet a complete interlock due to extrusion die degradation shall not be considered equal. Decking system applied to aisle steps, platform decking and ramp decking. Quantity and configuration of decking planks shall be a function of the row spacing.2 Riser planking to consist of 6063-T6 aluminum extrusion. Available finishes: mill finish AA-M10 OR anodized finish to AA-M12C22A41 OR powder coat finish to AAMA Standard powder coat colours apply. Consultant/Architect/Owner to specify.3 Seat planking to be nominal 2 x 10 (38 mm x 241 mm) OR full 1-3/4 high x 9-1/2 wide (45 mm x 241 mm) clear anodized finish. Consultant/Architect/Owner to specify.4 All planking to be furnished with heavy-duty end caps fastened to the underside of the plank with rivets. All planking to be secured using hidden clip (6063-T6) aluminum fastening system. All hardware used in plank fastening shall conform to ASTM A All walking surfaces to be non-slip.6 Aisles: Shall be designed to meet applicable code requirements. All aisles shall have extruded aluminum powder coated nosing specially designed to allow for safe navigation of staircases. When intermediate aisle steps exceed 48 (1219 mm) in width they shall be furnished with not less than three support brackets to ensure minimal deflection in high traffic areas. Width and location to meet applicable codes and egress requirements based on seating density.7 Aisle Handrails: Per applicable code requirements.4 Guardrails and Handrails.1 Guardrails furnished on sides, back and front of grandstand and on stairs and ramps as required in accordance with applicable code requirements.2 All pipe shall be 1-1/4 NPS (1.66 O.D.) anodized aluminum with appropriate joiners and elbows at corners. Secured to angle rail posts with galvanized fasteners.3 Guardrails not less than 36 (914 mm) vertically above the centre of adjacent seat board surface and not less than 42 (1067 mm) above the centre of adjacent footboard shall be provided at the back, sides and front of grandstand - Guardrail Types: Consultant/Architect/Owner to Specify One of the Following: - Chain Link Infill: 2 x 9 gauge galvanized chain link fencing fastened in place with aluminum ties, galvanized tension bars and aluminum rail clamps - Chain Link Infill: 2 x 9 gauge vinyl coated chain link fencing fastened in place with aluminum ties, galvanized tension bars and aluminum rail clamps - Vertical Steel Pickets: Hot dipped galvanized after fabrication. Picket spacing not to exceed 4 (100 mm) on centre - Aluminum Pickets: Clear anodized finish. Picket spacing not to exceed 4 (100mm) on centre.4 Handrails shall be continuous, one piece shop bent 1.66 O.D. aluminum pipe with clear anodized finish

5 .5 Foundation System.1 Permanent beam style grandstand is to be installed on pier style foundation system. Foundation design is by others unless noted otherwise in the contract documents. When grandstand manufacturer is not retained to provide foundation design, it shall furnish reactionary load table to foundation designer.2 Galvanized steel cast in place anchor bolts are to be supplied by the grandstand manufacturer and installed by the foundation contractor (unless noted otherwise in the contract documents). Placement of anchor bolts must conform to CSA A23.1/A Concrete contractor to finish pier cap 1 (25 mm) below the underside of the horizontal cross beam and column base plate to allow shimming of structural components. Failure to maintain consistent pier cap elevation will require re-work on behalf of the contracted foundation contractor.4 Concrete contractor to apply non-shrink grout between top of pier cap and underside of the steel base plates.5 Geotechnical Report Requirements: Owner to engage a local soil testing firm to investigate and furnish a soils report. The report should include at a minimum the soil conditions, bearing capacity and associated settlement, frost depth as well as any local conditions that may impact the performance of the structure. Part 3 EXECUTION.1 Installation.1 All work must be performed by factory trained technicians and installers experienced in grandstand installations and conform to CISC/AISC practices.2 Carry out installation as per the manufacturer s approved shop drawings and written instructions.3 No structural members are to be field cut, altered or drilled without written approval from the manufacturer s professional engineer.4 After installation, grandstand shall be inspected for proper alignment and function END OF SECTION
