2 Town of Enfield Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee Request for Proposals for the Renovation and/or Construction of the Recreation Center The Town of Enfield Parks & Recreation Committee is considering whether to renovate an existing building into a Recreation Center or construct a new building for the same purpose. The Town desires to select the most cost effective option. Please provide below quotes for: Option #1 Renovation of Existing Building and Option #2 Construction of a New Building. Note also that under each option there may be additional options that will need to be quoted separately. Roof 30 year Option A New Shingle Roof Contractor will not remove the existing roof. Contractor will remove the existing roof, pile the debris/material on the site and Town Staff will remove the debris/materials. Option B New Metal Roof Contractor will not remove the existing roof.

3 Contractor will remove the existing roof, pile the debris/material on the site and Town Staff will remove the debris/materials. *The pitch/fascia of the roof should be at least 5/12 and constructed of the appropriate material customarily used in NC for each option. Please specify the type of material for each option and price changes, if any: 2. AC/Heat Unit throughout the building equipped to maintain a minimum of degrees Farenheit and a maximum of degree Farenheit. Two units (1) small unit for the office and bathrooms, (1) large unit for open area; AC/Heat unit thermostat should be enclosed and secured. 3. Plumbing/Water Upgrade the plumbing pursuant to applicable NC Codes as needed; Hot water heater (with timer); (1) outdoor water faucet behind the bathrooms. 4. Electrical Upgrade electricity pursuant to applicable NC Codes as needed; include an electrical room with lights. 5. Alarm System Burglary and fire alarm system compliant to NC Codes for places of public assembly 6. Restrooms Approximately 126 square feet each; full service (1) male and (1) female restrooms; accessible from the inside and outside, (metal outside doors), two commodes each, two sinks each, etc. as required and ADA compliant; drop ceiling. 7. Water fountains (commercial grade) Located inside the building, outside the restrooms; (1) high and (1) low. 8. Office One office with two inside glass windows to give clear view of the facility, drop ceiling. 9. Storage Room Size to fit floor plan, drop ceiling, lights.

4 10. Double Doors (Fire Code compliant) Replace two existing rollup doors with double metal doors (no glass); (1) in the front entrance and (2) on the Railroad Street side of the building. 11. Rear Exit Door (Fire Code compliant) Replace existing door with a 36 metal door (no glass). 12. Lighting Install safe and appropriate lighting for indoor activities/games, fluorescent, energy efficient; four outside flood lights at each corner of the building. 13. Windows No windows; have adequate indoor lighting instead. 14. Telephone, Cable & DSL Connections Installed in the office and along the wall on the east side of the building. 15. Flooring (commercial grade) Carpet in the office, tile in bathrooms, cement floor in the rest of the building with necessary crack repairs and paint (lapidolith application). 16. Ceiling Option A Sheet rock Option B Plywood ½ inch thick, smooth grade 17. Insulation Halifax County Building Inspector will view this building as an existing building and there are no R-grade requirements for insulation. However, insulation in the ceiling (not the walls) is desired by the Recreation Committee. 18. Interior walls Option A Seal and paint (lapidolith application) Option B Plywood ½ inch thick, smooth grade 19. Exterior walls Seal and paint (lapidolith application) *All features must meet all necessary NC Building Codes, NC Fire Codes and be ADA compliant. The job must be certified in writing, under seal by a NC registered architect or NC registered engineer for no more than 149 people capacity. All utility services will be electric; no

The new building can measure approximately 30 x 70. Height of all interior walls should be 10 feet. The building will need to be located on the north side of the site. The contractor must evaluate the ground and report, in writing, to the owner s reasonable satisfaction toensure suitability for construction.
