10 CF 5158 DATA SHEET FIRE RATED GLAZED DOORSETS 1. General DATA SHEET These doorsets have been fire tested and certified by CERTIFIRE as being capable of providing fire resistance of up to 60 minutes integrity, for the single-acting configurations, as defined in BS EN : 2008, when installed in accordance with the following conditions. In recognition of this, the leaf carries a prefixed label on the top or hanging edge of the door, issued under the terms of the CERTIFIRE scheme. This label uniquely identifies the door leaf, the manufacture of which complies with BS: ISO 9001:2008 for quality systems and is subject to on-going surveillance. This label shall not be removed. It is emphasised that the certification is conditional upon the following instructions being complied with in their entirety. Failure to do so will invalidate this approval and may jeopardise the fire performance of the door. Door assemblies supplied pre-fitted with components by may be considered to meet the requirements in respect of those items. 2. Door Leaf Dimensions The doorsets may be used in single-acting, single or double-leaf, latched (and bolted for double-leaf options), metal framed, metal leaf configurations. The doorsets shall be of mild steel, uninsulated framed glazed construction. The maximum door leaf dimensions are given in Table 1. Table 1. Maximum Permitted Door Leaf Dimensions Doorset Configuration Integrity and Insulation (I 2 ) (mins) Maximum Height (mm) Maximum Width (mm) Subject to Maximum Area of (m 2 ) Single-acting, single-leaf, latched Single-acting, single-leaf, latched Single-acting, double-leaf, latched and bolted Single-acting, double-leaf, latched and bolted Data Sheet CF 5158 Page 1 of 3

11 Supporting Construction The door assemblies are approved to be installed into reinforced concrete or masonry with a fire resistance at least equal to that of the doorset to be installed. 4. Installation Frame jambs fixed at four equidistant positions. Single-leaf doorset head members to have a minimum of 1 no. fixing on widths over 900 mm. Double-leaf doorset head members to have 2 no. fixings. For masonry or concrete, doorset to be installed using steel anchor bolts minimum 10 mm diameter by 100 mm long 5. Seals Any seals shall be CERTIFIRE approved for use on uninsulated steel doorsets. 6. Hinges Hinges shall be of steel construction and shall be CE marked for use on fire resisting steel doors. Alternatively, the door may be hung on the specific hinges detailed below: Number: 2 hinges up to 2295 mm high, 3 hinges over 2295 mm high Reference: Forster Any other CERTIFIRE approved hinges subject to the conditions contained within the relevant certificate. 7. Lock and Latches Locks and latches shall be CE Marked for use on fire resisting steel doors, in addition to the following specifications: Alternative locks/latches which have been CERTIFIRE approved for use in steel doorsets are deemed to be suitable for use. Specific alternative lock and associated components as detailed below are also included in this scope of approval: Door Lock Manufacturer: Forster Reference: Dimensions: 45 mm wide by 190 mm high Handles Manufacturer: Forster Reference: Dimensions: 28 mm wide by 320 mm high Data Sheet CF 5158 Page 2 of 3

12 8. Self Closing Devices 9. Bolts A self-closing device is required to be fitted to satisfy fire regulations and if fitted shall be a CERTIFIRE approved and CE Marked product for the required application and door type. Note: closers with mechanical hold-open mechanisms are not permitted to be used. Flush bolts or shoot bolts of all steel construction must be fitted to the inactive door leaf of any double-leaf doorset. The inactive door leaf shall incorporate such a bolting device at both the head and base of the leading edge which shall provide at least 10 mm engagement. Specific alternative bolts as detailed below are also included in this scope of approval: Manufacturer: Dimensions: Merit 25 mm wide by 173 mm high 10. Glazed Apertures All apertures to be factory prepared by. Doorsets to be glazed (where r) using an alternative CERTIFIRE approved system (glass and glazing gasket). The relevant system shall be approved for use within an uninsulated steel door construction. The maximum opening or pane dimensions specified within the CERTIFIRE approval for the glazing system shall not be exceeded regardless of the maximum leaf dimensions permitted in this approval. Should a door leaf be required with glazed aperture dimensions that exceed that approved the glass to be used, then the door leaves may incorporate transoms to reduce the aperture dimension. Additionally, any edge cover and/or expansion allowance requirements specified by the glass approval MUST be complied with. Failure to comply with such requirements may invalidate this approval.
