PREAMBLE D R Y M U R P R E M I X PREMIXED MACROPOROUS DEHUMIDIFYING PLASTER Application methods DRYMUR PREMIX is a premixed plaster for restoration of damp building structures and/or suffering from rising damp. DRYMUR PREMIX is composed of lime, cement and siliceous quarry sands, selected and dried and mixed with Drymur additive. DRYMUR PREMIX is a premixed, transpiring, macroporous, aerating, anticondensate, water-repellent plaster specifically for restoration of damp structures and/or suffering from rising damp. THE SYSTEM Among the various systems used to restore walls attacked by damp, DRYMUR PREMIX undoubtedly takes the first place as far as quality, performance and versatility are concerned. DRYMUR PREMIX is available in two distinct versions to satisfy every application need: Drymur Premix for application with a mechanical plaster sprayer; Drymur Premix for manual application. DRYMUR PREMIX has a competitive price and is easy to apply, both mechanically and manually (see the two types available), without external factors being able to compromise the results. THE FULL CYCLE COMPRISES: 1) Inhibition of salts (if necessary): to be executed with TECOSEL; 2) Scratch coat (adhesion bridge): to be executed with DRYMUR PREMIX SPRITZ or with cement temper mixed with DRYMUR additive (manual application); 3) Base plaster: to be executed with DRYMUR PREMIX; 4) Finishing plaster: to be executed with DRYMUR PREMIX FEIN. 5 GUARANTEED RESULT Using DRYMUR PREMIX to coat walls suffering from damp and/or rising damp, eliminates the effects resulting from the presence of damp inside the walls. DRYMUR PREMIX allows effective intervention as well as significant cost savings. PRODUCTION DRYMUR PREMIX is manufactured in modern electronically-controlled premixing plants and is subjected to continuous quality tests. DRYMUR PREMIX is supplied in bags of 25 kg. (yield: for 1 cm thickness kg of product in powder form for 1 m2), supplied on pallets (with heat-shrink) of 60 bags each. DRYMUR PREMIX cannot be supplied in silos. WHERE TO APPLY DRYMUR PREMIX Restoration of old buildings; Restoration of masonry suffering from damp of any nature (not, however, water infiltration); As alternative or integrative product when making chemical barriers or physically cutting the walls. Filling and grouting of visible joints (see stone walls); Correction of conditions that lead to formation of surface condensate. DRYMUR PREMIX is suitable for both new buildings and restructuring work. DRYMUR PREMIX can be applied both indoors and outdoors on: Old masonry; Brick walls; Stone walls; Tufa walls; Concrete walls. DRYMUR PREMIX CANNOT be applied on: Gypsum walls; Non-macroporous old or gypsum-based plasters; Dirty or powdery surfaces; On paints or smoothing plasters. APPLICATION 1) DETERMINING THE APPLICATION THICKNESSES AND HEIGHTS: Thicknesses: DRYMUR PREMIX must be applied determining the following minimum thicknesses: on walls with a thickness up to 25 cm: minimum thickness of DRYMUR PREMIX 2 cm on walls with a thickness over 25 cm: minimum thickness of DRYMUR PREMIX 2 cm cm for every 5 cm wall thickness over 25 cm (example: wall thickness: 35 cm > DRYMUR PREMIX thickness cm = 3 cm) N.B.: minimum thicknesses mean the thicknesses to be applied from the furthest projecting stone or brick. Application heights (partial interventions): if you wish to remove existing plaster and then refurbish the wall with DRYMUR PREMIX only for the portion that has rising damp (hence not replastering Drymur Premix Manuale posa rev _ing - Page 5 of 12

everything), remove and replaster up to the height of the rising damp evident on the old plaster plus 3 times the thickness of the wall. example: evident rising damp: 50 cm - wall thickness: 30 cm > remove and apply DRYMUR PREMIX up to a height of 50 cm + (30 x 3) = 140 cm. 2) CLEANING THE SURFACE It is essential to clean the surface on which DRYMUR PREMIX will be applied. In particular, the surface must be free of dust, oil, grease and stripper residues, traces of friable and/or flimsy materials, old plaster, gypsum putty and paints and whatever else may hinder good and direct adhesion of DRYMUR PREMIX to the surface. Should the surface have salt bloom, remove it with a brush and before applying DRYMUR PREMIX, perform an inhibition treatment by applying the specific product for this purpose called TECOSEL. N.B.: wait at least 4 hours and not more than 36 hours after application of TECOSEL before plastering or applying a scratch coat to the walls treated with TECOSEL. 3) PREPARING THE MASONRY a) Wetting If the prior treatment with TECOSEL was not necessary, wet the walls as described below (if TECOSEL was applied, do not wet the walls): BRICK Wet with clean water until saturated the evening before application CEMENT BLOCK apply DRYMUR PREMIX SOLID BRICK STONE CONCRETE Wet without leaving water on the surface before applying DRYMUR PREMIX EXPANDED CEMENT BLOCKS Do not wet, apply an adhesion coat LIGHTWEIGHT CELLULAR CONCRETE, TUFA in sand and cement mixed with DRYMUR additive. N.B.: take the existing climatic conditions into account when wetting. Obviously, with harsh temperatures which carry the risk of frost, do not wet the evening before but only slightly moisten the surface just before applying DRYMUR PREMIX. Also see paragraph 6) "Application Method". b) Badly afflicted bricks Bricks that are badly afflicted and/or attacked by the disintegrating phenomena of rising damp and salts must be removed and replaced. The same procedure is to be applied for bricks which, following excessive firing, do not allow adequate surface absorption and consequently proper adhesion of DRYMUR PREMIX. 4) PREPARING THE CORNERS In order to retain full transpiration, make the plumb lines over the whole thickness using only wooden boards on the corners of the building and the shoulders of the doors and windows. Therefore, do not use staff angles of any type. Working method with WOODEN BOARDS: Position the boards taking into account the plumb lines and thicknesses necessary for an efficient restoration (see paragraph: determining the thicknesses and heights). Hang the string from one corner to the next so that the intermediate strips and the corners of the openings in the wall can be made during application of the first coat of DRYMUR PREMIX. Drymur Premix Manuale posa rev _ing - Page 6 of 12

The intermediate strips, made with DRYMUR PREMIX, must not be more than 2 m apart. 5) APPLICATION PHASES Because of the thicknesses required, it may be necessary to apply at least two coats of DRYMUR PREMIX to achieve the total thickness of: -2-3 cm thick: 2 coats of which: 1 st coat of about 1 cm 2 nd finishing coat -3-4 cm thick: 3 coats of which: 1 st coat of about 1 cm 2 nd coat of about 2 cm 3 rd finishing coat N.B.: should the building site conditions require thicknesses of more than 4 cm, it is recommended to use ISOLSAN as substitute for DRYMUR PREMIX. 6) APPLICATION METHOD a) with wet wall: climatic periods with temperatures between +5 C and +35 C b) with dry wall: climatic periods with temperatures between -1 C and +5 C Once the surface has been wetted following the instructions in paragraph 3 "Preparing the masonry" the plaster is sprayed holding the nozzle of the plaster sprayer perpendicular about 5-10 cm away from the wall. The first coat must uniformly cover all the masonry in such a way as to guarantee perfect adhesion of DRYMUR PREMIX to the surface and to provide a homogenous base for the next coat. During application of the first coat of DRYMUR PREMIX the intermediate strips must be created not more than 2 m apart (see paragraph 3a). Wait for the first coat to set (at least 1 hour) before applying the second coat; this will be a finishing coat in case 5a) or a filling coat in case 5b). 7) SCRAPING Scrape with a scraping knife or trowel to eliminate any imperfections left on the surface of DRYMUR PREMIX after final floating. Scrape only after the initial setting phase and before hardening of DRYMUR PREMIX: 8) FINISHING PRODUCTS The finishing coat is applied on the base plaster layer and the following materials can be used (which must have high transpiration properties and be suitable as finish in the restoration cycles): DRYMUR PREMIX FEIN, specific premix for finishing of restoration plasters; or plasterwork finish in cement temper mixed with DRYMUR additive; or coloured lime-based powder mortars to be applied with a trowel (type Isolteco Coloured Mineral Smoothing Plaster); or Drymur Premix Manuale posa rev _ing - Page 7 of 12

coloured silicate paste mortars to be applied with roller or brush (type Isolteco Coloured Silicate Smoothing Plaster) with prior application of a suitable fixative/homogeniser (type Isolteco Fixative Smoothing Plaster); The finishes in the first 2 points are applied only in the case of distemper (applied with roller or brush). With the other two types of coloured finish, for which a roughcast surface is required, the fine mortar is not applied. USE WITH PLASTER SPRAYERS (see Drymur Premix for "Mechanical Application") Normal plaster sprayers for premixed priming plasters can be used. In order to optimise homogeneity and air absorption of the mortar (conditions of prime importance to obtain the best performance from the restoration plasters) it is recommended to use "Turbo" or "Miniturbo". Moreover, some basic rules should be followed for more linear use of the plaster sprayer and consequently reduction of the margins of error in application of DRYMUR PREMIX: 1. Full efficiency of the plaster sprayer must always be assured by: a) regularly check that the water filters are clean; b) clean the mixing chamber every evening; c) wash the material delivery tubes and the mixing chamber after any break of more than 30 minutes. All this will prevent the formation of material plugs. 2. It is recommended to use the riser to allow feeding more DRYMUR PREMIX into the load hopper and to reduce the risks of the machine emptying out completely with the risk of tenuous mortar spraying. 3. The air tube must be inserted in the spray nozzle with the end piece 1 cm away from the cap to prevent the formation of plugs caused by the aggregate breaking away from the binders. MIXING IN CEMENT MIXER (see Drymur Premix for "Manual Application") 1) Pour in clean water; 2) add DRYMUR PREMIX; Drymur Premix Manuale posa rev _ing - Page 8 of 12

3) mix for at least 10 minutes (time required for the right amount of air to be absorbed in the mortar = about 30% of the volume); 4) After preparation proceed with manual application on the surface using the methods already described.
