2 This brochure is designed specifically for the CarPark concept, but it can also be applied to apartments, commercial buildings, precast concrete buildings, low rise and high rise buildings. Any reference to other buildings in this brochure is only a reference to show how this versatile CarPark concept can be applied to any other types of building construction. See other brochure V3 and V4 for all other buildings. CARPARK CONTENTS In this brochure there are two (2) different CarPark concept versions: Version 1. includes facade and crash barrier (V1) Version 2. includes facade, crash barrier and wheel stop (V2) The INNOVATION is a patented Australian Invention THE PROTECTIVE SAFETY FACADE DURING CONSTRUCTION IS THE FINAL FINISHED FACADE AND INCLUDES THE CRASH BARRIER AND WHEEL STOP. Any glass or windows in the following photos will be replaced with perforated metal or other material. Photos displayed convey the concept of what the external Preston Facade may look like. Therefore, with today s technology, new modern designs and at a low cost, Preston Facade can make any building aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Your imagination is the only limit to the design of the Preston Facade Innovation. The external look of the structural facade is unlimited as shown on the Photos. Climbing or falling plants, recycled timber, corten metal design, mix of metals, aluminium, copper, shapes and colours, perforated steel, louvres, etc... are all possible designs as shown herein. The brief description in this booklet of the Preston CarPark Innovation is only to describe the Innovative Concept, the Possibilities and the Patents. 3 PRESTON FACADE INNOVATION PATENTED WORLDWIDE Car Parks Apartments Commercial Buildings Precast Concrete Buildings Low & High Rise Buildings CURRENT METHODOLOGY OF CONSTRUCTING A CAR PARK OR BUILDING 1. Installation of expensive labour-intensive external scaffolding or perimeter safety screens. 2. This requires many truckloads of equipment, trucks on site, crane use, labour on site, accommodation and site storage of large volume of temporary equipment. 3. Elevated work platforms, mini cranes, trucks, work vehicles, contractors, tools and equipment. 1, 2 and 3 above are interferences to many site activities, greatly reducing productivity and greatly increasing logistics, control, management, delays to other trades, cost, etc. Preston Facade will eliminate 1, 2 and 3 above. 4. Formwork edge board is formed to stop concrete spillage and form the edge of the floors. Preston Facade will eliminate 4 above. 5. Concrete columns on the perimeter is constructed to support the slab edge. Preston Facade will eliminate 5 above as the Preston Facade is a structural support. 6. After the building is finished, a team of erectors with access equipment will start to install and bolt on a decorative facade to finish the building. This requires working at dangerous heights causing weeks of further delays and is a major cost increase on the project. Preston Facade will eliminate 6 above. The Preston Facade is the final decorative facade finish of the car park or building and includes the perimeter scaffold or screen or handrails for the safety of workers on site as per 1 above. 7. This refers to car park only. A crew of many workers will take weeks to install the Wheel Stop and the Safety Crash Barrier which involves a lot of drilling into the concrete floor. Many workers, trucks, labour and delays to install and drill the concrete floor of the car park or building will further delay the completion of the car park. Drilling of the concrete floor is not recommended and can cause many structural problems including concrete cancer. Preston Facade will eliminate 7 above. 8. Yearly maintenance and repairs over the life of the car parks or buildings will be expensive. Preston Facade will eliminate 8 above. Preston Facade is the new methodology on how to build a beautiful car park or building quickly and cost efficiently. The Preston facade is an external designed facade erected before the next floor is installed. Therefore, creating numerous advantages as the facade is always ahead of the highest top floor whilst providing continuous fall prevention to workers on site at all times. 2. This will provide fall prevention for workers and objects, eliminating scaffolding, perimeter screens and handrails. 3. The fall prevention will be minimum 1m high and up to 5m high depending on the floor to floor measurements or whichever floor you are working on. 4. When the next facade is erected on top of the existing erected facade of 1m above the highest top floor, the newly erected facade and fall prevention can be up to 5m high. 5. When the highest top floor is poured, there is an instant handrail of 1m or higher on this newly poured highest top floor. Therefore, there is continous fall protection. 6.
