3 Page 3 of Test Specification(s): IBC ASTM E (2009), Test Method for Water Penetration of Exterior Windows, Skylights, Doors, and Curtain Walls by Uniform Static Air Pressure Difference 5.0 Test Specimen Description: 5.1 Product Sizes: Wall #1 through #9: Overall Area: Width Height 5.9 m² (64.0 ft 2 ) millimeters inches millimeters inches Overall size Walls #1 - #9: Test Wall Construction: Each wall was constructed with 6" 20ga. structural steel studs spaced 16" on center. Two sheets of 48" x 96" x 5/8" exterior gypsum board was then secured to the steel studs in a horizontal orientation with 1-1/4" self-tapping screws spaced approximately 8" on center. The board joints for the ExoAir 230 fluid applied air barrier walls were detailed with Dymonic 100 polyurethane sealant whereas the two sheets building paper walls were left untreated (reference matrix). Each wall had a 30" x 54" rough opening 18" in from the right side of the wall that was fluid flashed with Dymonic 100 from the interior of the opening to 9" past the exterior face of the gypsum board. Each wall had 4 penetrations. A 4" x 4" square duct, 4" x 4" square outlet box, 4" x 4" octagonal outlet box, and a 2" diameter PVC pipe (reference matrix to how each penetration per wall was installed and detailed). Each wall was wrapped with a 2" x 10" SPF wood buck with the perimeters detailed with Dymonic 100. After lath and components were installed to each wall (reference matrix for specifics of each wall) a three coat stucco system was applied. All sealants and coating were left to cure before testing.
