3 OFFSHORE TECHNOLOGIES ESG designs and manufactures specialized equipment for the offshore wind sector. In addition to the fabrication of components in its own manufacturing facility in Stralsund, specially-trained ESG personnel are able to provide services directly on offshore structures during installation, for schedule maintenance or-ad-hoc repairs. Fixed structures for transporting wind turbines and their components Secondary steel for offshore structures Steel components for onshore infrastructure Maintenance and repair work on offshore structures STEELWORKS Steelworks is one of ESG s standard services. Fabricated components for the shipbuilding industry include: Ship sections Deck parts Railings and Platforms Tanks and containers Piping systems Beyond shipbuilding, ESG also provides many types of steelworks, including: Vehicle construction Bridge construction Concourse construction Various equipment To perform this work, ESG is certified at the highest execution class, EXC 4. 3

5 STAINLESS STEEL AND ALUMINIUM Stainless steel and aluminium are processed by ESG, both for the offshore and shipbuilding industries as well as for sectors such as the food and chemical industries, for biogas plants, for the hospitality industry or also for individual customers. Our product portfolio includes: Ship sections Tanks and containers Piping systems Railing and balustrade systems Stairs, ladders and platforms Prototype manufacturing SURFACE FINISHING For surface finishing, ESG has one of the largest pickling and electro-polishing facilities in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The pickling baths have dimensions of 6 x 1 x 1 meter (L x W x H). The electro-polishing bath measures 2 x 1 x 1 meter (L x W x H). 5

When carrying out R&D, GICON cooperates closely with universities and industry partners. NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING In addition to ESG s manufacturing services, ESG performs non-destructive testing (NDT) of materials. This includes: Magnetic particle testing (MT) Ultrasonic testing (UT) Visual inspection (VT) Dye penetrant testing (PT) CE-LABELING The presence of CE-labeling is required for many products in acc. with the EU s Machinery Directive.
