1 BRICK TOWNSHIP MUNICIPAL UTILITIES AUTHORITY BRETON WOODS SECTION 1 WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT ADDENDUM #2 The original Contract Documents entitled BRETON WOODS SECTION 1 WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT are amended as noted in this Addendum No. 2. This Addendum shall become part of the Contract Documents and is attached thereto. Bidder must acknowledge receipt of the Addendum on the bid form entitled Acknowledgement of Receipt of Changes to Bid Document Form located in the Specifications. This form shall be submitted with the bid. PART 1 QUESTIONS/ANSWERS 1. Question: Section , Part C States all Ductile fittings shall be ANSI A21.10 (AWWA C-110), ANSI A21.0 are Full Body heavy weight fittings. Are ANSI (AWWA C-153) fittings acceptable? Answer: The intent of the naming of a product or manufacturer in the Contract Documents is done to establish a level of quality or performance. If the Bidder feels that another manufacturer or product is capable of providing equipment and/or products that will meet or exceed the letter of intent of the specifications then he/she has the option to submit a substitute or Or Equal equipment and/or product in accordance with the requirements of the specifications. Actual substitute or Or Equal products will be reviewed by the Owner and Engineer during the shop drawing submission phase of the project. 2. Question: Section , Part 2.3 Service Material - The Brick MUA historically has been purchasing AY McDonald AWWA brass products as well as CI curb boxes from Atlantic for many years. Is AY McDonald an acceptable equal? Answer: The intent of the naming of a product or manufacturer in the Contract Documents is done to establish a level of quality or performance. If the Bidder feels that another manufacturer or product is capable of providing equipment and/or products that will meet or exceed the letter of intent of the specifications then he/she has the option to submit a substitute or Or Equal equipment and/or product in accordance with the requirements of the specifications. Actual substitute or Or Equal products will be reviewed by the Owner and Engineer during the shop drawing submission phase of the project. Per Paragraph 2.3.A included in Specification Section , all service materials shall be lead-free. 3. Question: Section , Part 2.3-B.4 The specified Polyethylene 200psi 1 IPS is no longer manufactured. Due to a change in manufacturing and resins the new standard is 250PSI SIDR7. Is this acceptable? Are Clow C-509 Ductile Iron body gate valves acceptable as an equal? Since they are AIS compliant? If the Bidder feels that another manufacturer or product is capable of providing equipment and/or products that will meet or exceed the letter of intent of the specifications then he/she has the option to submit a substitute or Or Equal equipment and/or product in accordance with the requirements of the specifications. Actual substitute or Or Equal products will be reviewed by the Owner and Engineer during the shop drawing submission phase of the project. PART 2 GENERAL 1. Please be notified that the bid opening date has been changed from Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 2:00 pm to Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 2:00 pm. 2. Please be notified that if an MUA project includes full pavement restoration, Brick Township will agree to waive all of the road opening permit fees as well as any bonding requirements provided that the bidder, if successful in securing the contract, agrees to list the Township of Brick as an additional insured. PART 3 SPECIFICATIONS 1. The first paragraph of the Advertisement for Bids shall be deleted in its entirety and replaced with the following: NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed bids entitled; Contract No B Breton Woods, Section 1 Water Main Replacement N.J. 3 will be received at The Brick Township Municipal Utilities Authority (Brick Utilities), 1551 Highway 88 West, Brick, New Jersey, up to Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 2:00 p.m., and publicly opened and read aloud by the Resident Engineer. 2. The first paragraph of page 1 of 25 of the Bid Form shall be deleted in its entirety and replaced with the following: The bids will not be accepted after 2:00 P.M. the prevailing time and day of October 25, 2017 as indicated on the Bid Advertisement at which time all bids will be publicly opened and read. 3. Pages 3 through 6 of the Bid Form section of the specifications, entitled, Bid Schedule, shall be deleted in their entirety and replaced with the attached. Please note that the only revision to this form was to modify Bid Item #3 per this Addendum, Part 2 General, item Paragraph 1.13.C included in Specification section shall be deleted in its entirety and replaced with the following: Item 3 County Road Opening Permits This item shall be provided as described in the Specifications and as required by the respective agencies in order to secure and comply with all required road opening permits.
