3 ESTFELLER SLIDING HORIZONTAL PARTITIONS WITH HIGH QUALITY CERTIFICATION WHAT THEY ARE, HOW THEY WORK AND WHERE THEY ARE USED Estfeller sliding partition systems use a number of single panel modules suspended from track mounted to the ceiling, that can be positioned to form a dividing wall when required. There are no tracks on the floor. A tight seal is created between floor and ceiling with an internal mechanism incorporated into each module, operated with a simple removable handle, or if requested, by push-button devices. It is also possible to insert a door module into the sliding partition. With Estfeller sliding partitions, all available space can be divided up swiftly, and individual rooms arranged to suit particular pre designed layouts. The practical and financial advantages of Estfeller partition systems are fully exploited in a wide range of surroundings i.e. hotels, restaurants, conference and social centers, shopping malls, industrial, training and sport facilities, recreation and work environments churches etc 3

It divides the dining room from the buffet in a cruise ship. Modules glide along an overhead track. Each module consists of a double aluminium panel in the centre, with an antique map finish. 29 Standard and special Estfeller panels Estfeller supplies various types of panels to satisfy a broad range of design requirements. Standard door widths are 82 or 92 cm for the single door module, and 167 or 187 cm for the double door module. Door heights are 203 or 213 cm. Other door sizes can be supplied on request. Doors can be fitted with flushmounted handles or push bars. The hinges are concealed and therefore not visible when the door is closed. 30 Estfeller sliding partitions - range of models Estfeller offers a selection of models to meet all requirements: Profil 75 is the entry level model for Estfeller operable walls. With a wall thickness of only 75 mm, it is space saving and easy to handle. The surrounding aluminium edges provide extra protection. The surface is possible in all common materials. The sound insulation available Rw = db. Design 100 is the most popular model as it has no aluminium section exposed when the panels are assembled, and the partitions therefore present a uniform surface. Panels can be finished with any material normally used for interior furnishing. They are mm thick and be supplied with sound insulation specifications of Rw = db. Optional is a electronic bracing for each panel available. Profil 100 is designed so that the vertical aluminium sections remain exposed, affording an increased measure of protection to the edges of the panels during use. This solution provides the original feature of a sequence of vertical lines right along the operable wall. Panels can be finished with any material normally used for interior furnishing. The are 109 mm thick and can be supplied with sound insulation. REI 60 is the model classified REI 60 to fire resistance with panels using class 1 (one) wooden panels and a hardwood insert with heatexpandable seals. A stable interface between ceiling and floor is assured by telescopic seals mounted to the parallel mechanism and extended by operating a removable crank. Panels can be finished with any material normally used for interior furnishing. They are 117 mm thick and provide sound insulation to Rw = 41 db. B 15; this model composed of fireproof materials. Panels consist of a metal frame covered with panels which have no reaction to fire. This model is manly used in naval systems. Panels can be finished only with laminate (min. thickness 0,9 mm). The sound insulation Rw = 36 db. internal telescopic panel The telescopic module is the terminating module of the operable partition, and carries a lateral seal ensuring a tight fit against the wall. In the standard version of the telescopic element, the external panel slides over the main panel. 31 Parking systems and spaces for Estfeller operable partitions The parking systems that can be adopted are numerous; the choice of the best solution depends not only on the architectural features of the site, but also on the dimensions and weight of the modules. This page gives some guideline illustrations of a few typical examples. Other solutions can be designed to meet specific needs. We would like to point out that the entire weight is concentrated in the parking position, a small area of some square metres, so a precise calculation of the hanging structure is necessary. A Single hanger: this system is the simplest and most economical, although the panels are likely to sway when manoeuvred, to the extent that the ceiling could be marked and even damaged. two-point suspension with parallel parking position, allowing a simple and safe procedure because the panels do not have to be turned over. B C Double hanger and 90 branch: this system is the most widely used, as the 90 layout is compatible with suspended ceiling construction systems. Double hanger with wall recess parking: care must be taken to allow manoeuvring space when designing the recess, which should be at least 20 cm wider than the modules. D E Lateral parking: the modules are parked sidewayson in relation to the main track. 32 Estfeller tracks and their installation Because of their weight, operable partition must be suspended with high quality tracks and rollers. According to the chosen sound isolation panel weight varies between 40 and 65 kg/m 2. Especially in parking area this load has to be considered for track suspension. The tracks are made of extruded aluminium and dimensioned to best accommodate the load conditions. Crosses L, T, X section are specially designed with roller balls to facilitate the running of the panels when changing direction. The mounting systems shown here are just a few examples; other solutions are developed according to the requirements. Roller with ball bearings, rolling width 15 mm. Power-assisted turntable for rotating of panels The servo-assisted turntable facilitates the rotation of the panels in L, T, X, corners by using position controlled servo motors with 24 volt. Sensors in the track determinate automatically the desired direction. Acoustic and luminous signals indicate the rotation process. The use of D.R.A. turntable has many possible applications. 35 SELECTING ESTFELLER SLIDING PARTITIONS A special rotation device allows a rapid movement of modules. This is manly used with exceptional heights and weights. DRA helps to move the modules rapidly and without effort. Movement od modules with help of the DRA (automatic rotation device) Thanks to the special aluminium track anchored overhead and the particular design of the hangers, the modules glide smoothly and are easily manoeuvred when negotiating branches and intersections. Tracks and hangers are manufactured using high quality materials to ensure long life and minimal maintenance. Modules slide with ease The modules are locked in position by operating the removable service handle or with the aid of an automatic device in each modules.
