7 12 SECTORS 13 CODES, QUALITY AND STANDARDS SECTORS Pre-Engineered Steel Building Roots Steel International s Pre-engineered Steel Buildings are low cost, great design flexibility, fast construction time, and low maintenance high performance facilities across several industries. RSI PBS can be customized to suit any commercial application. Our structures are manufactured in our facilities in Cairo and Damascus shipped to your site and erected by our skilled ground teams in complete coordination with your consultants and contractors. Pre-engineered steel buildings are finished internally to serve any functions and accessorized externally to achieve attractive and unique designing styles. Steel Structures Our factories and regional offices provide comprehensive technical and end-to-end range of design services, from design, engineering to construction for various types of structures by highly qualified and experienced Design Engineers & Detailers using state-of-theart design and detailing software. Roots Steel International custom fabrication of products uses steel, aluminum, and stainless steel depending on project requirements and customer specifications. Our Steel structure systems are made of structural components that connect with each other to carry loads and provide full rigidity. Because of the high strength grade of steel, our structures are reliable and can be fabricated with any specific shape to suit each project. The steel sections have various shapes, sizes and gauges made by hot or cold rolling, and welding together flat or bent plates. Oil and Gas Leveraging insight and expertise and responding to regional market demand, Roots Steel International Oil and Gas division is engaged to specifically serve the structural steel requirements of the energy sector. Our products are used in oil and gas exploration and production, transport, refining, and storage, as well as in the thermal, and renewable energy industries. Some common areas where our structural steel fabrication is used in the oil and gas industry include crude oil refining, natural gas processing, gas pipelines, gas transport and storage, natural gas processing and hydrogen generation. 8 14 TECHNICAL DATA 15 TECHNICAL DATA Introduction to Metal Building Systems Metal Building systems are classified as an interdependent group of items working together and forming a unified whole. They are fitted with different structural accessories including mezzanine floors, canopies, fascia, and interior partitions and are made water proof by use of special mastic beads, filler strips and trims. Pre-engineered steel buildings are finished internally to serve any functions and accessorized externally to achieve attractive and unique designing styles. Generally low-rise buildings with a maximum height that can go up to 25 to 30 meters, they are ideal for hangars, warehouses, showrooms, shop fronts etc. Primary Structural Framing Interior rigid frames, end-wall and wind columns, plus optional sub-systems such as mezzanines, interior partitions, roof monitors and extensions. Roots Steel uses specialized software to facilitate design and uses a combination of buildup and hot rolled members. Symmetrical and asymmetrical frames are fabricated depends on the type of building. Build up sections are fabricated from hot rolled steel plates. The application of pre-engineered buildings concept is very economical and speedy. Buildings can be constructed in less than half the normal time especially when complemented with the other engineered sub systems. Every pre-engineered building is designed to meet the local building standards and requirements. Specialized connections and framing are designed in for seismically active regions or any other special. Clear Span Multi - span with mezzanine floor Single slope Multi - span 2 Multi - Gable Multi - span 3 Clear Span suitable for buildings that need a large continuous open space such as aircraft hangars, warehouses a. Multi-Gable often used for very wide buildings that need a low over-all height for aesthetic purposes. Multi-Span frames are an economical alternative for wide buildings where interior columns can be used. Mono Slope features different eaves heights on each sidewall so that the roof slopes up from front to back for aesthetic or access requirements. Lean-to are used as an economical extension of a main building.

9 16 PRIMARY MEMBERS 17 SECONDARY STRUCTURAL FRAMING Primary Members Primary structural framing also includes the transverse rigid frame, leant-to rafters and columns (beam and column frames) light end frames, rafters, corner columns and end wall wind columns. Members (or built-up sections) fabricated from hot-rolled plates conforming to ASTM A572-, Grade 345 with minimum yield strength of (34.5 KN/cm2 or 50 ksi). The flanges are joined on the web by a continuous one sided automatic submerged arc welding process. Members fabricated from hot rolled mill formed sections shall conform to BS4360- Grade 50B with minimum yield strength of (34.5 KN/cm2 or 50 ksi). Members fabricated buy cold forming process conform to EN S355JR with minimum yield strength of (34.5 KN/cm2 or 50 ksi). All primary members are factory painted with red oxide primer. Connections All primary bolted connections supplied by Roots Steel System are high strength bolts conforming to ASTM A325-, while all secondary bolted connections are high strength bolts conforming to DIN933 Grade 8,8. We also offer an entire range of zinc plated steel sheeting fasteners that are selftapping screws, color coated to match wall and roof panel. Secondary Structural Framing Secondary Members Roots Steel System provides secondary members including purlins, side girts, eave struts, wind bracing rods, flange bracing, base angles, clips and other structural miscellaneous parts. Purlins, side girts and eaves struts are cold formed sections, and are available in the following options. Cold Formed Sections Z Used primarily as longitudinal roof purloins and longitudinal wall girts that connect to columns and rafters and support exterior roof and wall panels. The purlins and girt are cold rolled from steel coils with a thickness of 1.55 mm, 1.75mm, 2.0 mm, and 2.5mm. They are also pregalvanized and remain unpainted. Cold Formed Sections C C sections are usually used in framed openings and as a transition member between partial block walls and wall panels. They are also used as wind columns, light end well rafters, door jambs, framed opening members, mezzanine joists. C-section profiles are cold rolled from steel coils with thickness measurements of 1.5mm, 1.75mm, 2.0 mm, and 2.50 mm. C-sections profiles are also pre-galvanized and remain unpainted. Cold Formed Sections are made from GI coils conforming to ASTM A653M Grade 34.0( 340Mpa) G90. Metal Decking A zee Chiefly employed to support concrete slabs in the upper level floors, metal decking removes the need of form work and shoring while reducing the volume of concrete in the slabs. All other secondary members such as bracing rods, angles and other parts have minimum yield strength of KN/Cm2 or 36 ksi. PRODUCT B: STANDART ZEE PURLIN PRODUCT A: STANDART CEE PURLIN CHANNEL cee
