1 The information found in this document are general guidelines that may be used to aid in the preparation of your service request proposal. Please be advised that depending on the specific needs and actual conditions of your project, Hawaiian Electric may require your design to comply with different specifications including specifications that include more stringent requirements than those included in these design specification guidelines. For further guidance and clarification on the actual specifications that will apply to your particular project, please refer to instructions issued by Hawaiian Electric s Planner or Engineer who is assigned to your particular (Project/Review Request/ ). Additionally, please be advised that Hawaiian Electric reserves the right to require additional modifications to any approved design if it is determined during actual construction that additional modifications must be made to address certain field conditions that were not detected or Hawaiian Electric was unaware of during the design review process.

VAULT ROOM LOCATED BELOW GRADE LEVEL WLL NOT BE ALLOWED. THE VAULT SHALL BE DESGNED AND, CONSTRUCTED, OWNED AND MANTANED BY THE CUSTOMER. REFER TO HECO RULE NO. 1 THE VAULT'S DESGN SHALL COMPLY WTH HECO REQUREMENTS (AS SPECFED N THS STANDARD AND ANY PROJECT SPECFC REQUREMENTS), THE APPROPRATE BULDNG CODES AS WELL AS WTH THE NATONAL FRE PROTECTON ASSOCATON (NFPAl 7: NATONAL ELECTRC CODE (NECl, NATONAL ELECTRC SAFETY CODE (NESCl, NTERNATONAL BULDNG CODE (JBC), ANO OTHER APPLCABLE STANDARDS AND CODES. 5. ALL CONSTRUCTON MUST BE NSPECTED ANO APPROVED BY HECO'S CONSTRUCTON AND MANTENANCE DEPARTMENT - NSPECTON DVSON PROR TO THE NSTALLATON OF ANY HECO FACLTY OR THE ENERGZNG OF THE HECO ELECTRCAL SYSTEM. F ALL HECO CONSTRUCTON REQUREMENTS ANO STANDARDS ARE NOT MET, THE CUSTOMER RSKS THE CONDEMNATON OF THE CONSTRUCTED VAULT. THE CUSTOMER'S CONTRACTOR S TO CALL HECO CUSTOMER ENGNEER OR THE PLANNER AT HAWAAN ELECTRC'S UNDERGROUND DVSON OF THE CONSTRUCTON AND MANTENANCE DEPARTMENT S RESPONSBLE FOR ANY DUCT ENTRY NTO EXSTNG HANDHOLES OR MANHOLES THAT CONTAN ENERGZED CABLES. TEN ([l WORKNG DAYS ADVANCE NOTCE S REQURED. THE CUSTOMER SHALL COORDNATE WTH HAWAAN ELECTRC'S NSPECTON DVSON TO SCHEDULE THE HANDHOLE OR MANHOLE PENETRATON. 8. HECO SHALL HAVE 24 HOUR/7 DAY A WEEK ACCESS TO THE VAULT. ACCESS TO THE VAULT THROUGH A SEPARATE LOCKED AREA (WTH NON HECO LOCKSl WLL NOT BE ALLOWED. CJ. THE CUSTOMER S TO PROVDE A 1 FOOT WDE MNMUM, HEAVY VEHCULAR ACCESS TO ENABLE HECO TO NSTALL AND/ OR REPLACE EQUPMENT UTLZNG CRANES.LFTS OR OTHER HEAVY EQUPMENT. 1.
