2 CERTIFICATE No CF 633 PUERTAS NORMA S.A. PUERTAS NORMA S.A FD90 TIMBER DOOR ASSEMBLIES 1. This approval relates to the use of the above doors in providing fire resistance of 90 minutes integrity and insulation as defined in BS 476: Part 22; Subject to the undermentioned conditions, the doors will meet the relevant requirements of BS 5588 for FD90 doorsets when used in accordance with the provisions therein. 2. This certification is designed to demonstrate compliance of the product or system specifically with Approved Document B (England and Wales), Section D of the Technical Standards (Scotland), Technical Booklet E (N. Ireland). If compliance is required to other regulatory or guidance documents there may be additional considerations or conflict to be taken into account. 3. The doors are approved on the basis of: i) Initial type testing ii) Audit testing at the frequency specified in TS12 iii) A design appraisal against TS12 iv) Inspection and surveillance of factory production control v) Certification of quality management system to ISO 9001: The doors comprise cellulosic cored, timber framed leaves in various finishes for use with timber frames, with intumescent edge seals (code ITT FD90). 5. This approval is applicable to both complete doorsets and door leaves. Where the door is not supplied in a completely fitted form it is a condition of this approval that an agreed data sheet accompanies the product and is complied with in its entirety. Failure to do so will invalidate this approval and may jeopardise the fire performance of the door. 6. This approval is applicable to single-acting, single-leaf ITT assemblies. ITT assemblies shall be latched. Maximum leaf sizes are as given in Table Hardware items, including closing devises and intumescent edge seals, shall be CERTIFIRE approved or otherwise as specified in the data sheet. 8. The doorset shall be mechanically fixed to wall constructions having a fire resistance of at least 90 minutes. 9. Labels to the BWF/CERTIFIRE design referencing Puertas Norma S.A., CERTIFIRE and CERTIFIRE Ref. No. CF633, FD90 fire resistance shall be affixed to each door in the described position. 10. The approval relates to on going production. Product and/or its immediate packaging is identified with the manufacturers name, the product name or number, the CERTIFIRE name or name and mark, together with the CERTIFIRE certificate number and application where appropriate. 4 FD 90 DOOR ASSEMBLIES DATA SHEET 1. General This door leaf has been tested and is certified by CERTIFIRE as being capable of providing fire resistance of up to 90 minutes integrity and as defined in BS 476: Part 22: 1987, when installed in accordance with the following conditions. Subject to these, the door will meet the relevant requirements of BS 5588 for FD90 doorsets when used in accordance with the provisions therein. In recognition of this the leaf carries a prefixed label on the lower hinge stile head issued under the terms of the British Woodworking Federation - CERTIFIRE fire resisting door scheme. This label uniquely identifies the door leaf, the manufacture of which complies with BS: ISO 9000 for quality systems and is subject to on-going surveillance. This label shall not be removed. It is emphasised that the certification is conditional upon the following instructions being complied with in their entirely. Failure to do so will invalidate this approval and may jeopardise the fire performance of the door. Door assemblies supplied pre-fitted with components by Puertas Norma S.A. may be considered to meet the requirements in respect of those items. 2. Door Leaf This leaf may be used in a single-acting, single or double-leaf configuration up to the following maximum sizes. Door leaves may be trimmed to fit the frame by the following maximum amounts: Stiles (each) Top Bottom 3 mm 3 mm 5 mm Note that the maximum door to frame and door to threshold gaps specified shall not be exceeded nor shall the door edge fitted with the BWF-CERTIFIRE label be trimmed since removal of the label will invalidate the certification. 3. Door Frame Material: Fire retardant chipboard with 40 x 6 mm Promatect H insert. Density: 700 kg/m 3 minimum Section Size: 100 mm by 20 mm minimum plus 10 mm stop, rebated from solid. Door to Frame Gaps: Not to exceed 4 mm except at threshold where up to 8 mm is permitted. Data Sheet CF633 Puertas Norma S.A. Page 1 of 3 June 2008

Supporting Construction The door assemblies are approved to be installed in brick, block, masonry or timber or steel stud of minimum thickness 110 mm, providing at least 90 minutes fire resistance. 5. Installation: The opening may be lined with softwood which shall be continuous and of minimum width 80 mm. Any voids between lining and wall to be filled with mineral wool or if less than 6 mm wide, with intumescent paste or mastic. Each door frame jamb to be fixed through to the wall at not less than three points with steel fixings penetrating the wall to at least 50 mm. Any voids between door frame and lining or door frame and wall to be filled as above for lining to wall gaps. Architraves are optional with no restrictions on material, size or fixing. 6. Glazed Apertures Not permitted. 7. Intumescent Seals Configuration Position Specification Single-Acting, Single-Leaf Head Single Palusol 42 mm by 2 mm* seal in the frame at approximately mid-width + 2 x 10 mm by 2 mm* Palusol seal separated by 25 mm in the leaf head Vertical Edges Single Palusol 42 mm by 2 mm* seal in the frame at approximately mid-width Bottom Edge 2 x 10 mm by 2 mm* Palusol seal separated by 25 mm in the leaf head Rear face of frame Single 30 x 2 mm graphite based seal to rear face of frame to provide a seal with the supporting construction. Position: Seals may be partially interrupted at hinge and latch positions. * Seals must be CERTIFIRE approved and may incorporate PVC carriers to give and overall thickness of 4 mm. Hinges Hinges shall be CE marked in accordance with BS EN 1935 for use on fire resisting timber doors, in addition to the specifications below: Number: 4 hinges per leaf Type: Steel, butt, journal supported, lift off and fixed pin. Any washers or ball bearings to be of phosphor bronze or steel. Positions: 173 mm, 511 mm, 917 mm and 1740 mm ( 50 mm) from the head of the leaf. Dimensions: i) Blade height: 140 mm (+10/ -25 mm) ii) Blade width: 35 mm (+6/ -3 mm) iii) Blade thickness: 3 mm ( 0.5 mm) iv) Knuckle dia.: 10 mm (+1/ -3 mm) Fixings: 4 No. steel screws (min.) no smaller than No.8 by 32 mm long. Protection: 1 mm Superwool pads to each hinge blade 9. Latches Latches shall be CE marked in accordance with BS EN for use on fire resisting timber doors, in addition to the specification below: Case dimensions : 175 mm high by 75 mm wide by 20 mm thick. Fore plate : 240 mm high by 24 mm wide Strike plate : 185 mm high by 24 mm wide Latch bolt material : steel Protection : 2mm Interdens behind forend & strike & wrapped around the case No restriction on type and material of handles. 10. Overhead Closers Not essential for fire performance if the doorsets that incorporate a latch and the leaf is in the closed and fully latched position. A self-closing device may however be required to be fitted to satisfy fire regulations and if fitted shall be a CERTIFIRE approved product. Note: closers with mechanical hold-open mechanisms are not permitted to be used. 11.
