Knurled grab bars to be peened grip full length of the tubing to within 4" (100 mm) of ends of bends. Secure concealed fastening grab bars with 2 1/2" (64 mm) No. 14 screws to solid backing, capable of supporting a 500 lb. (225 kg) pull. All accessories must comply with current Ontario Building Code..2 At Barrier Free Accessible Water Closets:.1 1 1/2" (38 mm) dia. stainless steel, 24" (610 mm) long straight bar, standard flange position at back of water closet..3 L-shaped bar as detailed 1 1/2" (38 mm) dia. stainless steel, 30" (760 mm) long horizontal and vertical 30" (760 mm) at side of water closet..1 Install item 1 and 2 grab bars noted above at each universal / barrier free water closets..3 Combination towel dispenser/waste receptacle: Roll paper towel dispenser and waste receptacle. Colour selected from standard range by Consultant..3 Manufacturer's or brand names on face of units not acceptable. 3 EXECUTION 3.01 INSTALLATION.1 Install and secure accessories rigidly in place as follows:.1 Stud walls: install steel back-plate to stud prior to plaster or drywall finish. Provide plate with threaded studs or plugs..2 Hollow masonry units or existing plaster/drywall: use toggle bolts drilled into cell/wall cavity..3 Solid masonry, marble, stone or concrete: use bolt with lead expansion sleeve set into drilled hole..2 Install grab bars on built-in anchors provided by bar manufacturer..3 Use tamper proof screws/bolts for fasteners..4 Fill units with necessary supplies shortly before final acceptance of building..5 Install mirrors by concealed mounting in accordance with manufacturer`s printed instructions SCHEDULE.1 Locate accessories where indicated and as follows. Exact locations determined by Consultant..2 Toilet tissue dispenser: one adjacent to each toilet..3 Waste receptacle: one in each washroom..4 Paper towel dispenser: adjacent to each sink..5 Towel bar: one adjacent to each shower unit..6 Grab bar: two in each barrier free washroom.
