2 Q1. Drawing E-1 general note 6 reads All branch circuit wiring in power room and equipment area shall be in rigid conduit or EMT with compression fittings. On the site visit it appears the majority of all conduit existing is EMT with set screw fittings. To clarify, we understand all electrical conduits, branch and feeder circuits, installed inside the building can be EMT with compression fittings? A1. EMT with compression fittings is acceptable. Q2. In addendum 2 the answer to question 9 was to paint the switchgear. In spec sections A, C and F the new equipment will have factory paint. Clarify the painting requirement regarding switchgear and equipment? A2. The new equipment will have factory paint. Q3. Drawing E13 note 14 requires conduit and wire for the battery charger and control power circuits to the generator. On drawing E1 detail 1 shows outlets for the battery charger and control power circuits and a large inverted nipple for extension cords to access the cabinet. These are conflicting? A3. There is some confusion about the Temporary Generator Control Box identification. The generator is temporary, the control box is permanent and will remain once the temporary generator is removed. Detail 1/E1 indicates the condition of control box once the county furnish generator is removed. Drawing E13, note 14 indicates the temporary wiring required. Q4. Drawing E1 detail 1 shows the temporary generator control box mounted on something that is not identified? Drawing E13 shows the cabinet mounted directly to the exterior wall. A4. Detail 1/E1 indicates the permanent control box only and does not indicate a specific mounting, only the height above grade the box is to be mounted. The box will be wall mounted. Q5. Does the County have the Title V Operating Permit from the Department of Environmental Quality for the generators? This is an owner requirement. A5. The County has the permit. Q6. Provide the weight of the existing generators? A6. See page 13 of the rigging and lifting plan supplied in the specifications for the dimensions and weight of the existing generators. Q7. Provide the weight of the County supplied diesel 1000 gallon storage tank? A LBS. Q8. Will the County load the diesel storage tank onto the contractor vehicle for transport to the project site? A8. The contractor is responsible for loading and shipment. Q9. Provide the weight of the County supplied 375KW diesel generator? A LBS trailer mounted. Q10. Provide the freight elevator capacity and interior dimensions? A10. The elevator capacity is 3000 lbs. and interior dimensions are 8 L x 5 5 W. Q11. Drawing E13 note 14 the second bullet requires 4-500KCMIL conductors in 4 conduit to the generator connection box. Terminate cable with cam-lock fittings. Is it the intent that DOL type cable is to be used for the cable? A11. Yes. Q12. Drawing E13 note 13 requires a wall mounted generator connection box. Spec section 2.1 B. 1. Requires a vertical free standing unit. These are conflicting? A12. Provide a free standing unit.

3 Q13. On drawing A4 detail 6 shows P5000 Unistrut and 3 diameter pipe for the equipment rack. On drawing E1 detail 6 and 7 note 1 shows P1000 Unistrut for the same rack. These are conflicting. A13. P5000 Unistrut is to be used for all equipment racks. Revised Drawing A4 is updated to indicate P5000. Q14. On drawing S2 there are no provisions of structural steel shown in the roof to support the new exhaust silencers? A14. Roof Framing Plan on Revised Drawing S2 has been updated with new support framing for the new exhaust silencers and new opening framing for the 16 pipe through the roof. Q15. Drawing M4 note 6 it s the contractor s responsibility to furnish 2000 gallons of fuel. Can you provide the vendor the County uses for delivery to the site? A15. Mansfield Oil Co. Q16. Drawing M3 detail 2 shows demolition of the HVAC CW and HW piping. The detail does not indicate if there are cut off valves on the branch lines coming off the headers. This is required information because if there are no cutoff valves the headers will need to be drained and refilled. A16. There are valves at the main headers that isolate the chilled water supply and return branch that serves the fan coil unit serving the maintenance office and the fan coil unit that will be removed. The County is not certain if there are isolation valves at the heating water mains. Q17. In addendum 2 Appendix C was not attached? A17. Revised Appendix C is attached to addendum 4. Q18. Please clarify the maximum allowable weight for each generator, to include all accessories, such as circuit breaker, batteries, battery charger, muffler, fuel tank, and all fluids? A18. The weight of the basis of the design generator and accessories is 37,000 lbs. Q19. Drawing E18 the schedules for MCCCP1 and MCCCP2 do not have starter sizes listed. Are we to assume only circuit breakers are required? A19. Starters are required for all motor loads, except for cooling tower motors. Q20. Regarding the preceding question; is the contractor required to provide new buckets for the relocated circuits from EMCCP? If so provide a specification for what is required? A20. The existing Motor Control Center was manufactured by GE and is assumed to have prepared connection point in the center. Provide starters from the 8000 line. Q21. Drawing E7 note 2 directs the contractor to provide motor starters similar to existing for the relocated circuits in EMCCS. The EMCCS schedule on drawing E16 does not have the starter sizes listed. There are no specifications for motor starters. A21. Assume starter sizes based on the motor sizes given. Provide motors sizes to match existing transferred loads. Q22. In the preceding question provide the manufacturer and catalog number for existing MCC EMCCS? A22. GE, 8000 line. Q23. Drawing E4 note 9 requires the use of an existing 4 conduit riser. Identify which chase the conduit is located? A23. Contractor to locate the spare conduit in field. For bid purposes assume the conduit is located in the in the south west corner of the generator room shown on drawing E8. Q24. Drawing E4 note 9 shows a spare conduit located in the central switchgear room. Identify where this spare conduit is located on drawing E13 detail 7?. A24. The junction box where the spare conduit is terminated is located adjacent to the central elevator bank approximately 140 feet from the east wall of the central switchgear room. Contractor to verify the location in the field.

4 Q25. Drawing E4 note 9 requires the use of an existing 4 conduit riser. Are there any existing pull boxes in the riser that would require vertical cable supports? A25. Number and location of the existing pull boxes is unknown. Contractor to provide vertical supports as required. Q26. Drawing E4 the new feeder in the generator switchboard feeding the ATS-FP is 3-500KCMIL & 1#3G in 4 C. The existing riser feeder is 3 sets (3-400KCMIL & 1-2/0G in 3 C). The fire pump controller appears to be 1200A. These are conflicting. A26. For bid purposes assume the existing feeders are both correct. Q27. Drawing E4 note 12 requires the fire pump feeder in a two hour enclosure. Protecting a new feeder encased in 2 inches of concrete will almost be an impossible task taking into account the feeder will be suspended overhead. The NEC code section (A)(2)(d) exception to (A)(2)(d) states that the supply conductors located in the electrical equipment room where they originate shall not be required to have the minimum 2-hour rating. Can you review this requirement? A27. Delete the requirement for a 2-hour enclosure. Q28. Drawing E4 note 11 requires a fused disconnect switch in existing space fused at 80A. Does the panel board have a spare switch and all we need are the fuses or do we need to install the switch also? If we need to also install the switch provide the manufacturer s name and catalog number of the panel board? A28. The switch and fuse are new, installed in an existing space. Q29. The bid documents do not contain a specification for the dry type transformer. Please provide a specification for the dry type transformers. A29. Reference specification section which is available for download from Q30. Detail 1/A4 has a note fire proof structural member and underside of deck (1 ½ hour rating UL Test Design P719) requirement. There is mention of a 3 hour rating requirement shown at the top left on detail 1/A4 and in New Work Keynote #2 on sheet A3. That rating is contradicted by the Emergency Generator room code Analysis on sheet T1 which calls for 2 hours. What is the correct hourly rating? A30. There is no contradiction. Each note is referencing different components or elements of the required fireproofing of the building. The 2 hour rating referenced within the NFPA Emergency Generator Room Code Analysis on T1 dictates the required fire separation rating of wall and floor components between other spaces in the building. Secondary framing and decking of the roof structure is dictated as 1 ½ hour fire rating per table 601 of the 2012 IBC and primary structural components for buildings of Construction Type 1A are indicated as requiring a 3 hour fire rating by the same table.
