3 A Pre-engineered Metal System TremLock is a pre-engineered metal coping system designed with no exposed fasteners to accommodate movement. Basic Use: TremLock is designed for parapet wall coverings, while providing for movement from expansion and contraction. It also eliminates exposed fasteners and continuous cleats, which are common with conventional copings. Applicable Standards: Consult your Tremco representative regarding current FM Approvals, details on applicable standards and wind uplift ratings. System Composition: TremLock is designed with formed aluminum and painted steel, including splice plates and anchor plates. The splice plates combined with weatherstripping are concealed at each joint assuring a watertight seal. The anchor plates spaced intermittently, through nailers on top of the parapet or directly into the wall, provide a positive lock with minimal labor. TremLock is not ideal for areas of high abrasion or where it may be subject to mechanical damage. To maintain the systems integrity and proper appearance, installation should be exercised with care to avoid damage and scratches to the surface. Features: Factory fabricated accessory items No exposed fasteners Kynar 500 /Hylar 5000 Coating Benefits: A fully engineered coping system Eliminates field fabrication of accessories Reduces installation cost Reduced leak sources Accommodates movement Long lasting performance Clean, neat appearance Variety of colors available See the TremLock spec data sheet for your specific system or consult your Tremco representative. Features: Benefits: Factory fabricated accessory items No Exposed Fasteners Kynar 500 / Hylar 5000 Coating A fully engineered coping system Eliminates field fabrication of accessories Reduces installation cost Reduced leak sources Accommodates movement Long lasting performance Clean, neat appearance Variety of colors available Good Roofing Practices: Package staining of the extruded metal coping system can occur if packaging is not protected from moisture. Take precautions to protect package from wet weather. System Limitations: Care should be exercised during installation to avoid surface damage and scratches. Not ideal for areas of high abrasion or where it may be subject to mechanical damage. Packaging: TremLock is available in 3.66 m (12 ft) stock length in a variety of sizes from 152 mm to 610 mm (6 in to 24 in) wall widths. Finish and Color: TremLock is available in standard aluminum mill finish or Kynar 500/Hylar 5000 High Performance Coating. The Kynar 500/Hylar 5000 High Performance Coating is a two coat system consisting of a fluorocarbon base top coat over a quality matched primer, with the same primer on the back side for additional protection. COPING CAP GALVANIZED ANCHOR PLATE (w/spring Clip) WOOD NAILER MASONRY/WOOD FASTENER SPLICE PLATE SPRING CLIP ROOFING FELT AS SPECIFIED 1/4 GAP SPECIFIED STRIPPING TremLock Installation Information: 1) Corners and end caps must be installed prior to the standard coping lengths. Place factory-welded corners upsidedown on a sheet of plastic or other smooth surface to avoid scratching the finish. 2) Position the splice plate in the center of the anchor plate. Install splice plate and anchor plate assembly (complete with weatherstripping) into the top face of the parapet wall at each corner end. For outside miters only, position adhesive-backed neoprene block on wall at outside corner point. Place the corner assembly into position and secure at the exposed edge of the anchor plate using 4 masonry/ wood fasteners 4.67 mm x mm (.1875 in x 1.25 in) minimum size. To attach the unexposed edge of the anchor plate, remove corner and splice plate. 3) Attach anchor plate to top of wall at recommended spacing using four (4) masonry/wood fasteners 4.67 mm x mm (.1875 in x 1.25 in) minimum size. The front of the anchor plate must be installed tightly against the face of the parapet wall. Apply the 152 mm (6 in) neoprene block only to the anchor plate located in the center of the coping length, approximately one (1) every1.8 m (6 ft). Do not install neoprene blocking under splice plate. Typical anchor plate spacing for walls less than 433 mm (17 in) wide is 1.8 m (6 ft) o.c. For walls 433 mm (17 in) wide or greater, anchor plates are to be spaced at 1.22 m (4 ft) o.c. 4) Center splice plates on anchor plate at all coping joints. Install weatherstripping along the top of the splice plate and down the face (outside wall) side at approximately 13 mm (.5 in). Use two (2) weatherstrips per splice plate; remove protection paper from weatherstripping and apply slight pressure to ensure proper adhesion to the clean dry splice plate

5 5) Fully engage hook on face of coping with front leg of anchor plates. Pivot coping into position and press down firmly over each anchor plate until hook on rear leg locks into place. Refer to installation guidelines for detailed instructions. Technical Services: Your local Tremco representative and the Tremco Technical Services Department provide problem analysis and assistance in developing recommendations for special applications. On-site instruction can generally be provided at a nominal charge. Their services are complemented and augmented by Tremco s Research and Development Laboratory, which has earned a unique reputation in weatherproofing technology.
