DRAWINGS AND ANY RELATED INFORMATION The bidder shall verify that these Contract documents are complete and assume responsibility to view/download/print the drawings, specifications and any related information not sent with this document. You are required to go to the City s website where under the description of this contract you will find links to the drawings, specifications and any related information not sent with this document. Shortages shall be reported to the Engineer immediately. It will be your responsibility to make sure that when you print any drawings/sketches/etc that they are printed to scale. 1

2 ADD the following drawing not originally in the posted package Drawing A6.4 Door and Frame Schedule DELETE the following from page 1 and page 2 of section of the specification document.1 Acceptable evidence of such qualifications will include, at a minimum, all of the following:.1 A proven understanding of local, Provincial and Federal Heritage Restoration Guidelines with a minimum of five (5) years experience with projects of similar size and scope as that of the Guelph VIA Rail Station renovation, provide in writing..2 Presentation of three (3) similar projects that have been certified by the Ontario Heritage Trust as having met the Standards, provide in writing..3 Names and resumes of the project foreman and crewmembers to be assigned to the project listing projects successfully completed and contact names and phone numbers for the Owners of the projects. The foreman and crewmembers proposed for the project shall not be changed without written acceptance and agreement of the Owner to the change..4 Upon direction of the Consultant and prior to the approval of the proposed subcontractor, the proposed subcontractor will execute a mock-up of finished work with their proposed crew for the Consultant s approval..5 With each bid the Subcontractor shall provide a written description of his onsite procedures and methods demonstration an understanding of both the requirements of the Project Specifications and the sensitivities involved in working around and with delicate historic material to be conserved and restored. PART 3 EXECUTION Not applicable. 2

4 SPECIFICATIONS.2 Refer to Section Gypsum Board PART 2 PRODUCTS The following CertainTeed products are to replace the discontinued products listed. 2.1 Gypsum Board Panels:.1 CertainTeed ProRoc Regular Gypsum Board to be replaced with CertainTeed Gypsum Canada Inc. Regular Gypsum Board Fire-rated gypsum board:.1 CertainTeed ProRoc X to be replaced with CertainTeed Canada Inc. Type X Gypsum Board..2 CertainTeed ProRoc C to be replaced with CertainTeed Canada Inc. Type C Gypsum Board Water-resistant gypsum wall board (greenboard):.1 CertainTeed ProRoc Moisture Resistant to be replaced with CertainTeed Canada Inc M2Tech Moisture and Mold Resistant Gyspum Board..3 Refer to Section Tiling 2.3 Accessories.3 Trim:.1 Delete Type 3; at vertical transition between PT-1 and PT-2: Schluter Design Line 25mm stainless steel..4 Refer to Section Panelboards Acceptable Manufacturers:.1 Add GE (General Electric).4 Refer to Section Disconnect Switches Acceptable Manufacturers:.1 Add GE (General Electric) 3. AFFECTED DRAWINGS.1 Refer to Drawings A2.1 Interior Demolition Plans and A2.4 Floor Finishes Plan. Bidders are requested to include for the removal of the VCT and mastic which covers the original mosaic tile and decorative border that delineates the western perimeter of the enlarged Waiting Room. Bidders are to include for patching of any existing penetrations, access openings, and damage resulting from removal of existing partition. Any specialized 4

5 cleaning or bleaching of tiles required resulting from the removal of VCT and mastic cannot be quantified at this time..2 Refer to Drawing A2.1 Interior Demolition Plans Detail 2. While not noted on this drawing, the drywall ceiling, partition, and door is to be removed from the south east portion of the basement, as shown on Drawing M-3 and indicated during the site visit..3 Refer to Drawing A2.3 note 1 Allowance to be made to undertake repairs to existing ceilings. It is the intention to patch all visible tears, holes, penetrations and surface cracks in all existing ceilings, and to prepare those ceilings which will remain exposed to receive a new paint finish. It is not the intention to restore plaster ceilings to their original 1911 condition..4 Refer to Drawing A2.3 detail 5 (photo): It is the intention to repaint the existing wood coffer trims and ceiling beams. Deteriorated paint only to be removed and surfaces prepared to receive new paint finish in colour to be determined by the historical paint colour analysis..5 Refer to Drawing A4.1 Interior Elevations Delete note 3..6 Refer to Drawing A4.2 Interior Elevations Delete note 6..7 Refer to Drawing A6.1 Window Schedule and A6.2 Window Schedule Note 01 to be replaced with Deteriorated paint to be removed and surfaces prepared for re-painting. See Note 11 where applicable. It is the intention to restore all interior window and door trims to their original configuration and finish within the enlarged extent of the Waiting Room only. The openings affected are W3, W4, W9, W8, and Doors 01, 02, 03 and 19. For these openings, bidders are to include for White Oak for those trim profiles which are to be replaced with wood to match the original, and for stripping of paint from trims which are original and existing. Paint finish and colour is to be determined by the historical colour analysis. 5

6 For all other interior windows and door trims, the intent is to remove deteriorated paint only and prepare for new interior paint finish in colour to be determined by the historical paint colour analysis. It is the intention to restore all windows to their original operable condition and to strip all sashes of existing paint and prepare for new interior and exterior paint finish in colour to be determined by the historical paint colour analysis under cash allowance. It is the intention to remove deteriorated paint only from exterior window and door frames and prepare them to receive a new paint finish to match the existing dark green colour..8 Refer to Drawing A6.4 Door and Frame Schedule (see above). This drawing is issued as part of this Addendum..9 Refer to Drawing A6.5 Room Finish Schedule Bidders are required to paint all interior surfaces noted to receive a P (paint) finish. No more than 8 colours will be required. The new gypsum board ceiling in the basement is to be painted. Walls and floors in the basement are not to be painted and are to be scraped, vacuumed and cleaned only. Refer to the LEX Hazardous Materials report for recommended removal of any hazardous substances identified. QUESTIONS: AND ANSWERS CLARIFICATIONS Q1 - Dwg. A2.1, Note 22 states to remove panel backboard, where and what exactly is this? A1 Delete note 22 from drawing A2.1 and refer instead to General Notes Applicable for all Demolition Drawings on Drawing E1.1 Demolition Layout Electrical. Q2 Dwg. A2.0, Phase 1 mentions insulation in the roof space. Please clarify where this is required on the drawings? A 2 There is no roof insulation work required. This note refers to a suggested scope of work to be completed under Phase One. This note is to be revised to read: Phase One Demolition, New Floor, New Basement Stair, Basement Fire Separation, Lighting, Mechanical, Hazmat Abatement, Plumbing & Insulation, Roof space Electrical, Partial Waiting 6

7 Room Restoration, Sales Area, Driver s Lounge, Washrooms, Transit Office. Q3 can you clarify which surfaces are to be completely stripped of paint? A3 The interior trims of doors and windows that are to remain (i.e. not noted to be replaced) in the Waiting Room and Future Vendor Sales areas only are to be completely stripped of paint. All window sashes (interior and exterior) are to be stripped of paint and prepared to receive a new paint finish. All other previously painted surfaces on the interior and exterior are to have flaking or abraided paint removed and be prepared to receive a new paint finish. Q4 The new ramp walls are noted to match the colour and texture of the transformer enclosure walls. Do you require an architectural panel finish, or rubbed concrete finish? A4 Yes, both.
