Technical Information Project Completion Date: September 15, 2015 Project Location: Hillsboro, OR Size of Project: 23,000 cubic yards; 171,930 square feet of slab-on-grade; 348,942 square feet of elevation deck; 32,000 square feet of 9" doweled and reinforced street paving; 35,000 square feet of 6" doweled and reinforced sand finished plaza paving; 26,000 square feet of sidewalks; and 2,500 square feet of curb and gutter. Concrete Strength Requirements: 4,000 psi (slab-on-grade); 5,000 psi (elevation decks) Water/Cement Ratio: 0.38 (at elevation decks) Unique Specifications/Requirements: All on site walks and plaza area's required an over sanded 4000psi mix to achieve the architects sand finish look. A chemical spray was applied to the freshly finished flat work to retard the top surface so the cement could be washed away exposing the sand for a sand blast look. Placement Challenges or Unique Techniques: All three buildings were inaccessible on the south side due to the Max line. The West and East building were inaccessible on three sides The east building had to be constructed in quadrants to the top floor in order to be able to access.

The new is a design built around the Max line, City of Hillsboro bus transportation and Intel busing. Apartment living above retail with all modes of transportation located at the plaza on ground level.

Over 200 column and spread footings, 2800 lineal feet of continuous footing and 180,000 sqft slab on grade. With no access on the south or east side of the East Podium building concrete placements and general job site access were very challenging.

23,000 cubic yard of concrete place on 350,000 sq ft of elevated post tension decks. This work was performed thru all the season and managed to keep the finishes to meet the owner s expectations even in Oregon s wet winter months.

2,800 lineal feet of formed walls. 950 lineal feet of radius walls. All having to be ground and dry finished meeting a class A finish.

The city of Hillsboro designed the concrete street that horse shoes thru the project. With the constant heavy bus traffic that the city and Intel buses generate the design team settled on 9 inch doweled and reinforced 5,000 psi concrete.

The site concrete had to be placed in phases so all trades could finish their work without driving on the new concrete paving.

35,000 sq ft of plaza area was designed at 6 inch thick doweled and reinforced. The architect chose a sand finish look which requires a chemical applied to freshly finished concrete which retards the surface allowing the cement to be washed off leaving a sand blasted look.

The finishes are a very contemporary sleek design with concrete as one of the main components.

The platform district has over 650 apartments and with access to all mode of transportation this has been one of the most desired properties on the west side.

At the ground level are several restaurants, coffee house, and several other shops with just about any amenities a person could need. This truly is modern living built with concrete.
