1 PROJECT DESCRIPTION PIK-CR PID It is proposed to rehabilitate the bridge over Sunfish Creek on CR 85 in Pike County, Ohio. The rehabilitation includes the replacement of the concrete deck, steel beams, abutments, and pier caps. The impacts to Sunfish Creek will occur from a temporary causeway needed to replace the steel beams and to repair the piers. The existing structure (SFN ) is a continuous steel beam with concrete deck and substructure. The structure has a sufficiency rating of 36.2 SD and a general appraisal rating of 4. Sunfish Creek is a perennial stream that is in the Scioto River drainage basin. Within the project area Sunfish Creek has drainage area of 133 mi². The project is located in a rural area in Newton Township of Pike County. No new right-of-way will be needed for the project. No homes or businesses will be removed by the project. Two trees that will be removed as part of the project have the habitat for the federally endangered Indiana Bat. The funding for the project is 80% Federal and 20% State. The environmental commitment date is 10/29/2013. The project is currently expected to be awarded 4/1/2014.
