1 Certificate No: EW687C InstaCoustic 108 & 208 Acoustic Overlay system Description of Product The 108 and 208 systems offer a high performance acoustic floating floor solution for both airborne and impact noise problems, with both timber and concrete floors, in the refurbishment or upgrade of existing dwellings, particularly where the floor height is a Photo/isometric drawing provided by manufacturer concern. 2 Designed to ensure compliance with Approved Document E Noise, the appropriate solution for an individual floor will always be designed by InstaCoustic. Robust Detail FFT4 also covers the use of this system. System 108 comprises a 9mm water resistant T&G overlay board, an 8mm sound barrier pad and a 6mm IN1 Decoupling fibre, total thickness 23mm. System 208 comprises a 9mm water resistant T&G overlay board, a 13mm sound barrier pad and a 6mm IN1 Decoupling fibre, total thickness 28mm. Both systems incorporate perimeter support and Instacoustic perimeter sealant installed in compliance with design and fitting instructions. Individual site conditions may necessitate variances to these standard instructions. Such cases should be referred to the InstaCoustic Technical Department for approval. All installation and working practices should be in accordance with relevant Codes of Practice, current British Standards and HSE Regulations. If a screed has been applied it must be fully cured before beginning the installation of the floor system. On concrete floors a membrane (if required), such as 1200 gauge polythene sheeting, should be installed over all ground floor slabs and new concrete bases above ground level. Building to be dry and weatherproof. All flooring materials to be stored in safe dry conditions. Instacoustic adhesive and sealant should not be subjected to temperatures of less than 5 c. Floor receiving the 108 or 208 system must be level to within 3mm over a 3m run otherwise a cradle and batten system must be used free of all debris and sharp objects if timber, loose or creaking floor boards must be screwed down and cracks between boards sealed if concrete, hard and dry All beam and block or concrete plank floors should be fully grouted. Any acoustic thresholds or plinths must be fitted before laying the 108 or 208 floor system. Always seek advice from the InstaCoustic Technical Team regarding suitable solutions.
