13 Utility Design/Station Construction Third Party Coordination Relocation and final design of utilities require close third party coordination between Metro, the utility companies, the City of Los Angeles, City of Beverly Hills and the contractors. 13

14 Activity: Pile Installation Proposed Work Hours: 7AM to 11PM: 7 days a week No overnight work, when possible Piles are drilled not driven to reduce noise Noisiest activities include saw-cutting and pile-drilling Projected duration: Western: 2-3 months La Brea: 6-8 months Fairfax: months La Cienega: 6-8 months 14

15 Activity: Decking Proposed Work Hours: Full weekend closures 8PM Friday - 6AM Monday Work completed day and night on weekends Noisiest activities include saw-cutting, jackhammering and large cranes during operation Materials delivery and hauling occurs at night Projected duration: Western: 2 weekends La Brea: 10 weekends Fairfax: 11 weekends La Cienega: 11 weekends 15

16 Activity: Station Excavation Proposed Work Hours: 24 hours/7 days a week Work primarily occurs underground beneath concrete decking Surface activities include: Deliveries Soil removal Material delivery and hauling occurs at night Projected duration: La Brea: 10 months Fairfax: 17 months La Cienega: 20 months 16
